If you rest for a few days, the shops should replenish their gold.

haha yea, a 17000 bounty? Jeeze, i would have just reloaded from a previous save.

I think it takes 48 hours for merchant's money to respawn. Or you can use the trick i stated before: Save the game, kill the shopkeeper and witnesses and load the save.

Also, if you have high speech and the investment perk (can't remember what it's called), Riverwood trader can have over 10000 gold at once when you invest 500. Thieves guild merchant(s) also have like 4000 when you have finished the quests, i believe.

Speaking of thieves guild, did anyone else have trouble getting jobs for Markath? I've completed the special job for every other hold, but i just can't get Markath to show up..glitched, maybe?

What did you do?!?

Killed Nilsine Shatter-shield for Muiri, then slaughtered a few guards.

Then went back to Windhelm later to bring back the white phial. Everything was peaceful until I got into the Phial. Three guards came in and I had to fight my way out.

I'm good at making gold. I once had 15,000 gold before I bought a house and spent it on getting potions.

Ahhh you should have killed her all quiet like.

Anyway this is probably a really dumb question but... can i start a new game without over writing my current one? My current game i'm a Nord warrior called Thor who specialises in Warhammers (oh yes). But I wanna try a new character, maybe a sneaky Wood Elf/Khajiit or a Mage High Elf/Dark Elf.

Speaking of Khajiit I'm 99% sure one of their voice actors is the guy who played Saladin in Kingdom of Heaven. He's a bad ass.

You can start a new character without losing saves from a previous one. Only autosaves will be overwritten.

I recommend a Khajiit for the assassin style character.

That's not entirely true, at least with the PS3 version. The game creates an auto hard-save right as your characters gets off the cart in the opening. This hard save is overwritten every time you start the game over. Plenty of people around the internets have lost 60+ hour characters when they started a new one, simply because they had only been saving in the slot the game made for them.

So yes, you can have multiple characters but just do yourself a favor and make a new hard save slot before you do, to be safe.

Why would you only use the one file? I have like 200 some odd saves.

So that if I get into a bad spot I have trouble with, I have a save ready to load, or one previous to go back to? It's also gotten me out of a nasty glitch in the Abandoned House quest in Markath

In case you mess up something. In case you make a decision that you regret, or do something by accident that you regret, in case you can't find your damn horse, in case its been a while since the last auto-save... there's all sorts of reasons why you'd wanna save regularly. It just ensures that, if something goes wrong, you don't have all that far back to go.

In all my years of gaming, I've only ever kept one save file for each game and I've never ran into any of the problems you listed. But whatever, I was just curious.

I'm not sure if I have a texture glitch or if this is the same for everyone. I have Skyrim downloaded to my Xbox.

In the distance, waterfalls are always these still images that look pretty bad, I have to get fairly close to them before they move and look like actual waterfalls.

Is this the same for everyone?

Does anyone have an answer for this?

If you have over 200 save files, your load times must be atrocious.

She never said anything about files, just saves. I have around 100 myself.

I also have around 200 save files. The game loads just fine on my PC... just a few seconds.

Though whenever i started a new game, i deleted most of it. back when i was playing FO3, i make a hard save that i would keep whenever i was in the player's house. So when i wanted to start a new game, but don't want to start from scratch, i would chose one of those saves and modified it to my new character.

I would typically have saves on level 5-10-15 etc that way.

Does anyone have an answer for this?

textures not loading right in the cell would be my guess. Might happen from time to time.

I've been doing some thinking about all the extra loot I have that I don't want to take the time to sell off. I was thinking about reverse pick pocketing the better equipment/weapons on guards outside around towns but was wondering if guards respawn after a set period of time or if it would just vanish later on.

Yea I'm around 200 myself. But all on one file. The most files iv had at once was like 3, but i deleted 2 of them once i was sure they were no longer needed. I save like a damn fiend in this game.

If you get married, they don't HAVE to become a companion to you. They can just hang out at home and make meals for you.

I figured you can tell them to stay at home like other companions, but isn't marriage permanent? Unless you kill them that is, but can you even remarry? I just don't want to mess up on a permanent choice is all.

As for them being better than Oblivion, they are. It's just that the only partner I've had was still too anxious for a fight. It was the early companions quest with that one guy. Usually I try to stealth kill, and if the eye icon starts to open early I stealth back a bit until hidden again, and then try again. Twice the eye icon started to open, and he ran into the middle of 3-4 guys while I was turned around walking away, and suddenly he's kneeing and they're all running at me. A ranged partner sounds more appealing though.

Is there any magic wielding girls you can marry?

I have two different accounts on my Xbox, so different characters go in different accounts to avoid accidentally saving over my hard work.

Also, on one profile I have two characters so I just have to be careful when saving not to immediately save over the first slot I see.
