Elder Scrolls V - Part 6

IMO the main game has to stay single player to the extent & scale it currently is with no coop invasion. If they want to add a coop feature as an additional thing I'd be fine with it. Would give it a go, could be fun & not a prob as long as there's no necessity to use it.

With Elder Scrolls Online coming out, I doubt Bethesda would push out another ES game with multiplayer any time soon.

Is anyone looking forward to Elder Scrolls Online though?

I'm sure there are discussions happening in regards to that at Bethesda this week with TOR announcing that they are going free-to-play.

Still, I'd be surprised if they announced that they were going to offer a co-op experience that could potentially compete with their own product.

I'd enjoy drop-in/drop-out co-op. Having my character run around my friend's world and vice versa would be a lot of fun. Even teaming up for a quest here and there would be pretty neat.

I love playing single player, I very rarely play anything online. It has literally been 2-3 years since I've played online. Co-op isn't needed, but it would be a neat option for those who do want it. Those who don't want it would just not do it. It'd be no different than having first or third person as an option and only using one -you might not need one or the other, but it's fun to have the choice.

I sort of made my first retexture mod.

I wanted to make a Tiber Septim armor, it was a quest item in Oblivion but you couldn't wear it. A helmet like the one from the Tiber Septim shrines wasn't too hard to find. There's a Thor armor mod that adds one and there is another mod that's more what I would want but the helmet mesh doesn't render properly (head clips through it). For the armor itself, the statue at the shrines is all chainmail but I find that boring, I wanted something that looked Imperial. The Heroic Imperial armor from this mod was great, but I wanted it in blue. I was going to ask a friend who knows how to use Photoshop, but I was able to figure it out on my own. One part was easy since the creator just took part of the Steel Plate texture, so I just used the vanilla (which is blue) and cut out what wasn't needed. Then it was just changing the red to blue which wasn't as hard as I thought, just had to touch it up a bit.

Here's the end result.

Thats cool armor.

Out of curiosity, do people make mods for sheaths? Like when you unequip a two handed weapon it just sticks to your back, with no sheath. Am i the only person out there that cares for those things?

That looks great.

I made a mod once. I replaced all the textures in Facing Worlds (UT99 map) with a lava texture, except I think on one of the buildings I put an eyeball texture. Everyone hated it. :o

Thanks, guys. I still think it needs a little work to match the sleeves/pants but I'll wait to see if it bothers me in game. If I can get it to match, I might put it up on Nexus.

It depends on the mod. The sword I'm using there is from a sword compilation mod that adds 53. The creator probably didn't want to make 53 unique sheaths so probably just made a holster. You're more likely to get a sheath in a mod that only adds 1 or 2 swords.

I need some opinions.

I'm going to try to make my Tiber Septim armor a mod, but I'm having second thoughts on the Boots and Gauntlets to use.

Picture is 1200px wide as a fair warning.

okay, i got this game for xbox, but im new to this series...

i've been playing this for a bit, and i really do like it, but since this is a multi-platform game, what are the advantages and disadvantages of this being multi-platform?

Nothing really. Unless you get it for the PS3, then the disadvantages are it sucks ass. Even then tho all the content is the same(well, once Dawnguard drops for the PS3)

Obviously the best platform to play it on tho is the PC due to mods and the higher power of PC's.

So Dawngaurd is out for PC now... hmmm. Kinda just slipped under the radar, I heard by randomly reading PC gamers tweet. Way to cash in Bethesda.

^^ just found out about it too...strange...

Apparently they've announced the release on facebook yesterday

why does it suck on the PS3?

I don't know if it does now, but when the game launched Skyrim had severe performance issues on PS3 to the extent that game would become unplayable after 50 hours of playtime or something like that.

so what's this I hear about Dawnguard being delayed for the PS3?? :(

c'mon Bethesda. I mean........if it seems you have a hard time programming games for the PS3.........perhaps you should stop producing games for the PS3 and just stick with XBOX and PC........
