And to keep this on topic; i was fighting the Thalmor soldiers and was thinking how in the hell did a bunch of silly looking elves gives the Nords so many problems?...then igot fried a couple of times by their wizards and then i was like...aahh...so That's how...

Also, most of those old Nord soldiers weren't half as bad assed or high level as the Dragonborn. :woot: I try to keep that in mind when I'm cutting a path through hoards of enemies...it's not that they're bad at what they do, it's just that I'm way better!

I used to desise PC gaming until i got really into FO3.Now, i can't imagine playing it on the console ( not a dig to those console players of course! i played FO3 on the XBOX for more than a year!)...

Oh no, I have no problems with PC gaming, I dont like PCs themselves. I'm a Mac user and would rather stick my hands in a wood chipper than use a PC for my daily computing needs. I'm gonna eventually go against myself when I take the plunge and purchase a gaming PC for the next gen cycle. Altho I'm only going to use it for gaming(which is why I'm stuck on the cost aspect)

can't you buy one of those programs that let you run Windows on Mac?

Yea.

My problem with my Mac is its just a bit old. I cant run much outside of like Xbox games(Knights of the Old Republic etc). Im not sure what the new Macs offer in terms of gaming performance but id assume its not much and then going forward, upgrading is out of the question.

ah, I see.

personally, I still prefer playing games on consoles.........

Yea ill always enjoy consoles, but the way i look at it, if i hook a PC up to my TV and then just use a game pad, is there really that much difference? I actually dont know the answer to that question. Anyone treat their pc like a console in that way?

Not personally, but it's becoming more and more popular. That's why Valve made Big Picture Mode for Steam.

I was always like that but once I tried a few co-op things I loved it. And this is really up there with the best of these kind of modes. One game can't hurt right? They take about 15 mins (or less if you fail). But it's cool I know you're into the single player Fallout/Elder Scrolls full RPG thing.

They should put a mercenary mode like res evil for people like me hehe.I dunno what it is but there's a couple of things in gaming that i just can't see myself liking it. one is a firs person shooter the other is co-op...
f that £400 price point for a new desktop from scratch that can play the best games is anyway close it would be fine (was expecting £1k plus), just need to think where to put it.

You really don't need a monster rig to play games like Skyrim or ME, honestly.

And when you do buy a PC to play Skyrim...whatever you do, don't put it in your bedroom or in a separate room. You will never leave that room...trust me!

For all Bethesda games, i use an XBOX controller.

Except for the town guards, they're always about 4 level above you.But back to my situation...after dying for dozen of times, i decided to swallow my pride and just walks away. Even with 2 companions ( one is very over powered Lydia) there is no way the three of us could take an army of about 15 Thalmor soldiers and wizards.

bastards...

Anyway..James...did you catch that new tv series, Vegas? does it kinda makes you think of FONV?:oldrazz:

You're right. Not really into online co-op thing. I like my game to be MY game if that makes any sense.:oldrazz:

Next DLC is gonna be Omega, right? so i guess i'll wait till then.

Right now, running around with Serana and Lydia killing Elves is still tons of fun, so..

@ masterchief

What are you playing now?

have you seen this ENB mod for FO3? looks fantastic!

I've been playing Skyrim actually. :D The darker dungeons mod is mindblowing. It's like a whole new game. I took some footage of it in action.

And the realistic physics... so good. But looks like I might have to go back to Fallout3 now. :wow:

Steam actually has "Big Picture Mode" in beta now which is made specifically for TVs. :awesome: I hook my PC up to my TV sometimes and yeah, it works great. There's absolutely no difference between the experience other than looking and running better. Also, there's this mod for example which makes using a controller better by giving you 8 hotkeys on the d-pad and a quicksave/quickload function. It makes me wonder why they don't do this kind of stuff for consoles.

I'll look into that dungeon mod. Sounds interesting.

And to make your FO3 transition easier, use this mod ; it adds more than 40 new locations for you to fight through. It gives you new quests, new weapons and loots. It's VERY well designed.I know the guy's work, he does the same for FO;NV.

Hell, the way he designed it to seamlessly integrated to FO3, it felt like a new DLC.I was hoping he'll do the same for Skyrim one day, but he left the scene.

i tried that playing with a console controller on a pc... never got it to work

Oblivion was horrible with gamepad, that's true.

Was the controller responsive at all, Kal? have you tried re-installing the software etc?

I didnt think Oblivion was unresponsive with a gamepad but its just hte two games were meant differently. Oblibion was developed more with a PC in mind and Skyrim is morecatered towards the consoles. Its more apparent in the menus as the UI has been reworked and not as simple and easy to navigate with a mouse/keyboard as it was in Oblivion. Even combat as such as dual casting with the spells is just better suited to a gamepad. There are mods to alter things so you can get menus and maps more like the style in Oblivion but without that, I say one is just better off using a gamepad.

Well, I've come to the part where Esbern has told me that I must slay Paarthurnax or they will help me no further. Considering that I don't believe killing Paarthurnax affects the main story I have to gracefully decline the Blades help. It's not like I really need them anyway.

Haha, Im up to that part right now as well. I beleive that Paarthurnax deserves redemption for his past actions. I dont think I will kill him

The only benefit that I could see to killing Paarthurnax is that you can have followers join The Blades, assuming you haven't already done 3. The whole move seemed really, really petty. "Kill him or we won't help you anymore!" My first thought was "What have you done for me so far? I'm the Dragonborn, I'm doing all the damn work! Good luck hunting dragons without me!"

Paarthy is one of most interesting character in the game.

That said, i guess i'm one of the few who decided to kill him anyway.

Sins of the past and all...
