Elder Scrolls V

No point in releasing it if it doesn't!

I'd love to jump back into it but I wouldn't do the whole 400 hours again. Save that for ESVI. Although I will be playing ESO a lot more often from July onwards as my mate is in a guild and plays that game almost exclusively.

I got ESO for cheap during Black Friday and have barely touched it since.

As for Skyrim, I'd be interested in playing through it and getting the Platinum (which isn't really hard to do) but considering I only put 100 hours into it, I don't think I'd be as lost in it as expected.

I played Skyrim but its not a game I ever want to revisit. I didnt even finish all the DLC. I have no interest in getting lost in that world again. Come back to me when you have something new to show

I am missing just one glitched achievement from 100% including all DLCs.

I really hope this is true!!

Been hearing rumblings about this over the last few weeks or so.

so, it does seem like something's happening!

If it happens, I wonder if Bethesda will include console mod support, now that they have found a working model with Fallout.

God, I would love that. The idea of playing Skyrim with all the spiders modded out....its the dream.

that seems to be part of the rumor - it will include console mods.

I said before in a prior thread/post that maybe one reason why Bethesda held off on a Skyrim remaster for so long was to see how console mods would fare with Fallout 4.

and now that has rolled out on the X1 ( and soon on PS4 ), Beth is ready to unveil the Skyrim remaster.

I hope it does include console mods, because that would be a key selling point to drawing people back into a 5 year old game.

You could mod the spiders to be much bigger and more numerous, and to auto-spawn in your house. ;)

The only way I'd play it again for a new system was if we could get mods. I've played way too much on 360/PS3 for it to hold much more attraction to me.

I don't know, if they can make it look as good as this, I'd totally be down.

Yeah...honestly, I am not one to buy remastered games. I am not going to throw down money for something I already own. If I want to play Skyrim, I can just plug in my PS3. A graphics boost from PS3 quality to PS4 quality is not a big enough jump to get me to rebuy it. The only way I buy remastered games is if it is so substantial that it is essentially a remake of a game that is so aged that it is noticeable while you play it (for example, Skyrim still looks amazing and does not fall into that category, but if Morrowind were rebuilt with Skyrim quality graphics or even Oblivion...I would buy that in a heartbeat). Alternatively, I would buy a remastered game if it offered new content, such as the ability to mod it, or some new DLC/additions.

Part of me wishes it were Oblivion that was being remastered. I never played the DLC of Oblivion, I think the change of quality would be more substantial, and not all of the Oblivion DLC was released on the PS3 version. Including just that, not even the ability to mod, in an HD remake would be enough for me to reinvest in that. Unfortunately, Bethesda seems content to just forget Oblivion ever existed. :csad:

I would love to see both games get an HD remaster. But to do so would take such an immense amount of time and resources. Frankly, I'd kinda rather see all efforts directed toward TESVI than any HD remaster, even with modding capabilities.

:waa: :funny:

You know, when I play Skyrim, I live in apprehension, every time I enter a village or house that I know to be safe, that the game will glitch (Bethesda games are notoriously buggy after all) and there will be a big ass frostbite spider waiting for me inside.

The vast majority of remasters are either outsourced or handled by a separate team. Unless Besthesda is being really unorthodox and having the main team work on the remaster, it's almost guaranteed that no real resources are being reverted from ES VI to do this.

I don't know how extensive a remaster we're talking here, but I know that Bethesda did port Skyrim to the new consoles internally as a sort of experiment to test out the new consoles and their capabilities.

Yea I'd be down for some Skyrim on the current consoles.

I was seriously considering buying a used PS3 or 360 just to play games like Skyrim and some other last-gen games. But, it just didn't seemed justified to play a few old games.

so, a remaster for current consoles would certainly be welcome news. I had been waiting for Skyrim to become BC on the X1, so a remaster actually trumps that.

console mods would just be icing on the cake.

I never ended up getting this game and so a remaster could be interesting for me to have on X1

Possible leaked release date and price for Skyrim remaster. This site shows November 23th (this is a Wednesday and not a Tuesday, day before Thanksgiving) and a price tag of 50 Euros (I know this says 40, but you can see the original price being marked out as a discount), which would equate, most likely, to 60 USD.

I think it may be coming, but I'm not buying it yet (the story, not the game lol). I'm still holding my breath until it is officially revealed, if it's true.

I don't know if that's the actual date, but at this point, I think it's fair to say there's at least a 90% chance of it happening. Way too much rumbling and rumor about it not to be legit.

so, possibly a November release??

just in time for Thanksgiving!! :)

I hope it's a bit more than just a graphics update. New features of some sort would push me more towards buying this. Otherwise I unfortunately don't have time to replay Skyrim. It certainly isn't a small time commitment.

60 dollars is a steep price for a 5 year old game remastered. Skyrim was pretty advanced, graphically, so I cannot imagine the jump is THAT good. I'm sure it will be beautiful, but I can't imagine it will be so much more advanced that it warrants a full retail price of, again, a 5 year old game that is readily available for PS3 for $20 or so (including all of the DLC).

I am going to wait and see what is being included and, if included, how modding translates to consoles via Fallout 4 before I commit to this. $60 is a very steep price for the ability to add on mods.

Beth holds their E3 conference this Sunday, right?

yeah. I was hoping for a $40-$50 price, considering it is a 5 year old game.

but, there is no way I'm not going to buy this.......lol.
