Elon Musk Buys X (formerly Twitter): Just Use Bluesky, Threads, or Mastodon Instead

If there's some awesome strategy to this I'm not seeing it......

Reuters - Twitter lays off at least 50 in relentless cost cuts, The Information reports

It's not like I haven't posted examples of Musk being racist in the past...

Bloomberg News - Musk Deflects Criticism of Dilbert Cartoonist’s Racist Comments
  • Scott Adams said White Americans should avoid Black people
  • Twitter CEO calls media racist after papers drop comic strip
Musk waded into the controversy, first by responding to Adams, who quote-tweeted a Washington Post columnist encouraged by the newspaper dropping Dilbert. “What exactly are they complaining about?” Musk asked in a post he later deleted.

When another account on the social network Musk owns spoke out against coverage of Adams, Musk replied: “The media is racist.”

“For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians,” Musk said in another post. “Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America. Maybe they can try not being racist.”

Musk unsettled many Black users of Twitter Inc. last year by repeatedly saying past management had gone too far in moderating content on the platform, and had infringed on free speech as a result.

Shortly after taking over the company, he made fun of #StayWoke t-shirts he found at Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters that dated back to the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Tesla Inc. is facing a lawsuit by the California Civil Rights Department that accuses the company of engaging in a pattern of racial harassment and bias at its electric-vehicle factory. Tesla published a blog post responding to the allegations before the agency filed suit in February 2022.

In June, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a cause finding against Tesla that closely parallels California’s allegations, according to the company. Tesla said last month that it was in the process of setting up a mandatory mediation with the federal agency.

Adams has also been an open bigot for many years.

Surely they want to pay for things they need to work. Musk's strategy is weird and Twitter's financial reputation (as well as general reputation) - which will affect the rate at which it can borrow , is being dragged further through the mud.
He has literally stopped paying rent, don't expect anything off the table with Musk.

Can’t imagine many companies on this scale do that. The cost of the financial reputation hit to future borrowing opportunities can’t be worth it.

Musk is even breaking the biggest of his sycophants inside the company.

Zoe Schiffer, Platformer: "Just got confirmation that Esther Crawford, chief executive of Twitter Payments, is out."

Why did Elon even buy Twitter if the plan was to break it?

It was stock manipulation at first. But, he was stupid, and signed something he couldn't get out of. And when the court was about to get him under oath, which he really, really did not want to do, he caved and bought it.

He knows nothing about how to run a company that isn't subsidized by the government.

Clearly. Its been a total disaster.

He’s too used to lying at this point. Going under oath would mean jail time so buying a $44B company he doesn’t want is the lesser evil lol.

Business Insider - The Twitter leaders Elon Musk put in place keep quitting or getting fired. See who's left and who's recently been hired, including engineers from Google's DeepMind and a Tesla superfan.
CEO Elon Musk has lost a number of direct reports at Twitter. See who's still around after four months of his leadership.
Johnna Crider has also been brought into Twitter as an HR analyst, according to the people familiar. Crider is an outspoken fan of Musk and his corporate endeavors like Tesla. She frequently writes about him online and on Twitter, and she is among the 181 accounts Musk currently follows on the site. Crider interviewed Musk last year for a podcast typically devoted to gemstones and jewelry making.

Twitter Watch: Images and Media are no longer loading on new tweets. API for posting links to other sites is also broken, and is probably the reason images aren’t loading.

Medication will not be enough for that level of paranoia. He is so convinced people are out to get him he can't take a **** without a bodyguard present is levels beyond even justified paranoia. He pissed off a lot of people and he still keeps rinsing and repeating those same mistakes.

The Daily Beast - Bodyguards Follow Elon Musk Everywhere at Twitter HQ, Even to Restroom, Says Engineer

He tweeted some weird **** the other day about saboteurs in his paranoid tradition of 'assassination coordinates' when flying on his private jet.

Of course he doesn't look in the mirror at his own worst enemy.

Never has a man been so broken by being publically booed. His narcissism literally cannot handle being unpopular. He needs help, but of course, he won't get it.

Melon tweeted that he supports the insurrectionists and falsely claims they were all unfairly convicted as his buddies Tucker Carlson and Kevin McCarthy wanted him to.
