Elon Musk Buys X (formerly Twitter): Just Use Bluesky, Threads, or Mastodon Instead

No one is paying for that. Musk doesn’t want to face it but people want these apps for free and the way to monetise that is with advertising, which is what he’s driven away by running the place like a clown.

Okay the cartoon mastodons are cute.

He's a horrible boss. Why would anyone want to work for him?
Conditions for workers there just seem to be getting worse. Hopefully there will be a good alternative one day for users and workers to jump to.

I don’t know why they make you choose a service provider. Just make it universal like Twitter. That’s one reason Reddit came in and beat out long-established forums so quickly. I tried mastodon when Musk first came in and it isn’t yet a good enough substitute unfortunately. Someone needs to put a chunk of money into it and it will generate a lot of immediate return from all those Twitter users wanting to move and stop paying Musk.

Kali Hays, Business Insider: “New. Twitter emps down to roughly 1k. That’s about a 90% drop since before Elon Musk took over. Ppl taking the first job they can. Layoffs and firings constant, some even ‘interrogated’ by Musks security team. Downloads of the app are down 15%” “Could only post this from the app. Was automatically logged off of browser over the weekend (for the best) and only get an ‘oops’ error sign when I try to log back in since yest. Seems good.” “Someone let me on Bluesky plz” Elon Musk has chopped Twitter down to about 1,000 employees

Any takers on a bet Twitter is dead or sold off by year's end?

He already threatened to sue Microsoft after not working with Twitter on their advertising program anymore, yelling about how they're stealing Twitter's series of tubes or whatever the latest nonsense is.

People gotta realize they're in a toxic business relationship with this Twilight Zone manbaby when his happy place is challenged...or even escaped from, just like Trump.

And he’s directly admitting liability for any damage caused as a result. The real world Chapelle thing didn’t go well for him. He’s now getting himself into trouble continuously to try and impress his followers. Companies don’t like risk and this is becoming one of the riskiest mainstream platforms to associate your brand with.

Melon threatens that if NPR doesn't come back to Twitter he's gonna give the account to an impersonator.

I guess that's his new strategy to retaining users.

"You suck" Melon said to NPR reporter Bobby Allyn.
