Elon Musk moves X out of San Francisco. City leaders shrug.

So many things wrong with this stupid suit starting with the 1st Amendment and going downhill from there.![]()
Elon Musk and Jim Jordan want to force companies to advertise on Musk’s right-wing platform
Today X (formerly known as Twitter) filed a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), saying that GARM’s brand safety standards had cost X/Twitter “billions of dollars in advertising revenue”. X’s owner Elon Musk has stated...www.dailykos.com
Futurism - Elon Musk to Sue X Advertisers After Telling Them to "**** Themselves"
A new entry for the Galaxy Brain Hall-of-Fame, legal scholar Elon Musk is here to set a new kind of precedent.

For some reason I didn't realise you could view it without an account, and I thought you needed an Instagram account to get a Threads account. Will do some snooping in that case lol.I would like to promote Threads on the mere fact that I can actually search and read posts and replies without making an account. Something Twitter has stopped doing.
Yep it's still linked to your Insta. For some reason I didn't realise you could view it without an account, and I thought you needed an Instagram account to get a Threads account. Will do some snooping in that case lol.
Pretty dumb for people who don't have an Instagram account or otherwise want one. If it's to stop anonymous accounts it's a good idea but then should allow people to sign up using their Facebook or any other identifying account.Yep it's still linked to your Insta.
Meta has said they plan to make it a more independent app, but no clue if that means separate accounts. They're probably gunshy after almost being busted as a monopoly, which is why they cancelled their plans to unify WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, and FB Messenger.Pretty dumb for people who don't have an Instagram account or otherwise want one. Matt Binder and Elizabeth Warren are still on there.Let’s be honest, a lot of people are just on social media because they want to fight with other people. That includes left-leaners. That’s the true reason they stick to Muskland.
That’s dumb, they should have persisted with it and committed long term, even if just copying the same content across. It takes time, if they quit it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy and Twitter will always come out on top.Biggest pet peeve about Threads is the lack of Leftist politicos on there. They either tried the platform and abandoned it or never used it. For all the complaining about Elon, they sure don't want to use his competitors.
Most hopped over on Bluesky, but I guess Jack Dorsey abandoning it made them less confident in its future. Threads should be an easy transition if they already have Instagram. I know a few tried Mastodon. That’s dumb, they should have persisted with it and committed long term, even if just copying th same content across. Which one would you say is currently the best of the alternatives - which has most chance of success? Most hopped over on Bluesky, but I guess Jack Dorsey abandoning it made them less confident in its future. Threads probably. Bluesky still has a good amount of users who got sick of how toxic Twitter became.Which one would you say is currently the best of the alternatives - which has most chance of success?
