Like, there is no significant progress in terms of making Rockets faster...how does he think he will get cargo ships to mars that fast in the span of a year?

This is this stuff he sells the common people and tech bros, feeding the human wish to explore the stars...when he just scams people in reality.

As I recall, Gwynne Shotwell actually has a lot of autonomy and kept Musk from interfering more than he does in some of the other companies. May no longer be true though.
