Elon Musk Buys X (formerly Twitter): Just Use Bluesky, Threads, or Mastodon Instead

Futurism - Elon Musk to Sue X Advertisers After Telling Them to "**** Themselves"
A new entry for the Galaxy Brain Hall-of-Fame, legal scholar Elon Musk is here to set a new kind of precedent.

Elon Musk Has Turned X Into His Personal Political Playground

Elon Musk accused Twitter’s leadership of tipping the scales politically. But now he’s doing just that with X.

He is a manchild so of course he resides in a playpen.

So many things wrong with this stupid suit starting with the 1st Amendment and going downhill from there.

I would like to promote Threads on the mere fact that I can actually search and read posts and replies without making an account. Something Twitter has stopped doing.

For some reason I didn't realise you could view it without an account, and I thought you needed an Instagram account to get a Threads account. Will do some snooping in that case lol.

Yep it's still linked to your Insta.

Pretty dumb for people who don't have an Instagram account or otherwise want one. If it's to stop anonymous accounts it's a good idea but then should allow people to sign up using their Facebook or any other identifying account.

Meta has said they plan to make it a more independent app, but no clue if that means separate accounts. They're probably gunshy after almost being busted as a monopoly, which is why they cancelled their plans to unify WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, and FB Messenger.

Elon has said he plans to remove the Block feature this fall for Twitter, so hey that may give more motivation to move on over

It has to be studied how companies and Politicans etc rallied around Musk and in the span of what? 2-3 years he managed to be so deranged, that the same run from him.
The Man that easily could have held the world in his hands, and now only Tech Bros and right wing weirdos want to have anything to do with him.

Biggest pet peeve about Threads is the lack of Leftist politicos on there. They either tried the platform and abandoned it or never used it. For all the complaining about Elon, they sure don't want to use his competitors.

Let’s be honest, a lot of people are just on social media because they want to fight with other people. That includes left-leaners. That’s the true reason they stick to Muskland.

Matt Binder and Elizabeth Warren are still on there.

That’s dumb, they should have persisted with it and committed long term, even if just copying the same content across. It takes time, if they quit it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy and Twitter will always come out on top.

Most hopped over on Bluesky, but I guess Jack Dorsey abandoning it made them less confident in its future. Threads should be an easy transition if they already have Instagram. I know a few tried Mastodon.

Which one would you say is currently the best of the alternatives - which has most chance of success?

Threads probably. Bluesky still has a good amount of users who got sick of how toxic Twitter became.
