Emulating Black Culture

Man, I see this all the time where I live and I can't do anything but shake my head.

There's nothing more silly then seeing a group of preppy white girls wearing stupid Abercrombie & Fitch clothes and flip flops saying "we look so gangster".

Now that's funny!! LOL

Am I the only black guy in the world who doesn't like bling, or jewelry period?

I'm with you on that. I'm turned off by all that flash.

Without "black culture" America's cultural landscape would be somewhat bleak, at least one could assume. Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Rock N' Roll- need I go on? The fact is Black culture IS mainstream American culture.

So theres nothing wrong with kids who go around with their pants below their ass and talking like a ****** because its a "black thing", its because its just stupid(no matter what the race).

So if a black kid dressed up in Dockers, wore a polo shirt and some top-siders, would he be emulating white culture?

Nah you'd be the love child of Kanye West and Carlton Banks...

Period? No.

In "Chi-town?" Probably. ;)

Seriously, I think the only jewelry I have is my hs ring, a few classy time-pieces for formal evenings, and a few cuff-link/tie-clip ensembles.

There's no way you'd catch me in some ridiculous medallion or pendant; it makes no sense and most of the people(race aside) who do it are cattle stampeding from one fad to the next.

LOL! I never worn any jewelry except for my wedding ring. I always thought watches, rings, earrings, were more trouble than they were worth. A few years ago, I saw a necklace with a huge 49ers symbol. I bought it instantly.
People started asking me "where did you get your bling?" and "that's an iced-out piece". I was like "Huh?" :)

Hee, hee. I can just see some random dude walking up to you w/ the hands moving at 45 degree angles saying:

'where did you get your bling?' ; 'that's an iced-out piece <insert son or kid>'

Your chain was not snatched(at least I think), and for that, consider yourself a 'made' man. A very fortunate one.:o

Hmm, I wonder what a Dave Chappelle comedy skit on chain-snatchings would've been like?

It's just a costume piece so a thief would be quite upset if they tried to resell it. LOL!!
It did however, meet with approval from HOF Dave Wilcox and the legendary Jerry Rice. So, I wil always treasure it. However, one of Rice's buddies saw it and also complimented me. The problem was that I didn't know the word he used. I just acted like I was "in the know".:)
