So Dan Slotts next story arc how does everyone feel about it so far?

Looking forward to it! (Hope it's written better than the latest Sinister Six issue though. i.e Amazing 676)

The artwork is already a major improvement over Ramos' style.

I perfer the art here, but I do think Ramos's art is underrated. I like it.

Didn't Spider Island just end? I'd rather see the Ends of the Event-driven storylines. These things aren't special when they're happening like twice a year. It should occur on a much rarer schedule like the Olympics or Presidential elections.

Oh. And Ramos sucks.

Aloha,
I felt the same way about Ramos. I think you have to see his "work" in Spectacular Spider-Man to see how much he has improved.

Agreed. I do like when Slott is teamed up with less cartoony styles since his writing style (to me at least) is already on the sugary side.

I didn't like this latest Sinister Six ish, the art didn't help, but it was obviously filler to promote Doc Ock. Kinda boring actually. Besides I really don't like Mysterio working for him. The other guys work a little better as henchmen, although I like Chameleon solo too. It's like the Gauntlet was suppose to make the classic villains more of a viable threat somehow, but Waid undid that in 'Origin Of Species' with Sandman and Chameleon acting like wusses, and now Mysterio is a second-rater with his lip service to Ock.

Underrated?

SERIOUSLY?

I despise his artwork. I like most stylized pieces of art... but his stuff is just ugly. He makes humans look like monkeys.

His Spider-Man looks okay, but that's about the only thing that looks decent.

Yes, seriously. His art has improved since then. And it didn't stop Spider-island from being awesome.

Where is this improved art you speak of?

I'm being serious.

In Spider-Island?

EDIT: Checked out Spider-Island, it actually is much better. Thank God.

In a visual medium such as comic books, art is one of the most important things...I can honestly say his art did ruin A Death in the Family a little for me.

Have you read Spider-Island?

To each his own, I guess. He's defenitely not one of my favorites, but I don't hate his art at all.

Just flicked through it again, it actually is a lot better.

I hate his early art though.

Well, after 3 parts of EoTE, it's all been good... Slott really excels with these epic storylines that don't need to cross over otehr books...

:yay:

Aloha,
I also used to DESPISE Ramos's art. I have all of the Spectacular Spider-Man comics that he drew as a part of my collection but I can honestly say that I have not read them because of the horrible art.:wow::cmad::csad:
Having said that, I have become much more of a fan of his work since his run on Amazing.I think he has greatly improved from the art that you showed. He's not in my favorite artist list but he has definitely come way out of my worst artist list.Ends of the Earth is getting better with each issue.

Part 5 is out... it's been pretty sweet so far... a few minor bumps here and there... but I can see that Peter leaves Horizon after this story...

Aloha,
Yes, sooner or later, the Parker luck has to rear it's ugly head. I'm glad he got a chance to really show his genius and I think from here on, Peter will be able to be more creative with ways to make money and keep his head above water. Don't know if he'll be able to go back to photography though. His intentions were honorable however and that might be enough for some publisher to give him a chance. He could possible do free lance work for Richards or Stark, even Wakanda.
So far EoE-B+

I really like Ramos' art, i like how its different than what we're used to with Spidey. i like the stylization of it. Very nice lines

Yes his recent work is better than previous, but sure that's a natural thing isnt it? God help the artist whose earlier work is better than what they do now

John Byrne

There's more...

Artists can evolve or "improve" so much, they transcend the very style that made them unique and interesting in the first place.
