Entourage

It bothers Vince, though, and Vince is the one who's clearly holding everything up. Turtle and Ari were willing to stay behind.

Tru... But in real life, real friendships are thicker than showy expressions of loyalty... True loyalty, is passing up a trip to france so your friend can advance as an artist and his career... That's my opinion on the matter... And Vince is an idiot for passing that oppertunity up. Also how big a movie star is Vince, I've always wonder this when I watch teh show. How many movies has he done?

He's moderately successful. He was an up-and-comer until Aquaman, and then he became a giant superstar, but he hasn't released anything after Aquaman yet. That's what the plane ride was about--he's going to Cannes for the debut of his next film, Medellin, which he spent pretty much all of his money on and turned down Aquaman 2 to make.

hahahaha... Now that you mention it... He does look like Aquaman :woot:

Jake Gyllenhaal took the role from him when he passed on Aquaman 2. There's kind of a running gag of Gyllenhaal being Vince's nemesis.

I always like the theme of loyalty in Entourage, but I've got to agree that it was a bit overdone in this episode.

Which means it's only a matter of time before Gyllenhaal guests on the show! Now that'd be funny!

I'm hoping he does. It'd be great, like Ben Stiller on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I've always been under the impression that without Vince and without Cameron, Aquaman 2 died in production hell. It hasn't been mentioned since anyhow.

You know what would be interesting? If (or should I say when at this point) Medellin fails, Vince is forced to go to Warners and beg that they take him back for Aquaman 2, as it would really be the only thing that could save his career. At anyrate, I look forward to Medellin failure and a massive change in Vince's life as a result.

You think maybe Medellin will get booed to Hell at Cannes like Brown Bunny was?

The way Silo was sold (on Walsh and Vince) leads me to believe the only logical conclussion is Medellin being both a critical and financial failure (if they can find a seller at all). Walsh will basically be blacklisted at this point and Vince, who left a major franchise to work with Walsh and publically bashed a studio to defend Walsh's Queen's Blvd., won't be in such great shape himself.

I figured it got made and none of the main characters cared. Entourage isn't exactly the greatest at following up on plot threads, after all.

I liked it! Pretty damn funny I thought. Just goes to show that E is always right!

The problem is that I saw that coming a mile away. No real fault of the show, but it's what most of us expected to happen. Should bring about some really interesting storylines come next season though.

Got to love Drama getting some French poon tang though.

Season 5 is gonna be interesting to see how Vinnie and the boys bounce back from Medellin flopping big time at Cannes. Looks like E knows a good movie when he sees one.

Love the last ep. I think we all saw Medillion flopping, a mile away.

I think next season should be the last season. Lets finally have Vin get a successful franchise under his belt, and have the series end on a high not...un-like the Sopranos.

Glad 'Curb Your Enthusiams' coming back.

"Finally"? He had a successful franchise under his belt with Aquaman. He left it to do Medellin.

Or E knows a commercially viable movie when he sees one, at least.

I meant 'finally' in the sense that he gets one that woks out for him, and manages to stick with it.

I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I would've liked to see E get some retribution. Billy had rode him all season, I wanted E to be able to tell him "told you so". I would've liked to see more of the falling out. Billy has been a total prick all season, he should've got what was coming to him. I would've at the very least liked to see Vince apologize to E. Also, is Silo getting the plug pulled on it? So many unanswered questions.

But he doesn't want to do franchises. He wants to follow his heart and retain his artistic integrity. Which means he'll probably hover around being broke for a good, long while.

By the way, Drama should've married that girl. How funny of an ending would that have been after the predictable bomb of Medellin?

I'm not sure Vince is in that bad of shape right now. Him and E can still turn a profit from the movie once Harvey cuts it up, does reshoots, etc. Ari is right in one regard...Harvey is exactly who should have the movie right now.

Not right now, but he'll still probably have a few more close brushes with the poor house if he keeps passing up franchises to follow movies he's passionate about.

Definitely agree there. Vince is a bit arrogant in that regard. He thinks he can jump straight into passion projects and do only what he wants without paying his dues first.
