Entourage

Oh, and one of the best aspects of this episode had to be the look on Turtle's face during Medellin. Turtle never gets enough credit. You could tell he hated it so much and was drawn between telling or not. Such a subtle, brilliant background reaction. Brilliantly done. But would it really have hurt for one person to tell E he was right? :csad:

Yeah, I noticed that Jerry Ferrara is actually a really expressive actor a while back.

I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I would've liked to see E get some retribution. Billy had rode him all season, I wanted E to be able to tell him "told you so". I would've liked to see more of the falling out. Billy has been a total prick all season, he should've got what was coming to him. I would've at the very least liked to see Vince apologize to E. Also, is Silo getting the plug pulled on it? So many unanswered questions.

Isn't the contract already signed for Silo? I believe it was. If it wan't, they can kiss that one goodbye. The only reason that movie was approved was because of the hype surrounding Medilion.

I didn't get the ending; is Harvey actually gonna buy the film? I guess with some re-editing and insertion of deleted scenes the film can be salvaged. It'll be funny, if after it gets revamped that it's an overnight hit, next season.

Well, usually in Hollywood, contracts only obligate actors to do movies...not studios, so the studio can still shelve Silo. And the worst part is, they probably own the script now, so it will likely never get made (Serves Billy right). They may have to give Billy and Vince a small portion of their salary for Silo. That is the worst a contract will do.

Harvey bought the distribution rights for one dollar. Chances are, Billy is off the project and Harvey will do massive rewrites and reshoots. Which as Ari said, could be good as apparently Harvey saved Shakespeare in Love by doing this.

If the movie ever sees a theatrical release (and it probably will)...E, Vince, and Nick Rubenstein will get what they invested in it back first. Then they split the profits with Harvey.

Well, the finale was a bit predictable, but I don't know, it felt a little flat. Glad Drama finally really got his happy ending. The ending of the show was awesome. Still, I agree that maybe it's best to end the show with the next season. Explore Vince and the others on the edge of being poor, and then end it. I think we've explored just about everything by now.

I think another important aspect of Hollywood that should be explored, though...is the comeback. Vince is down, can he pull off the Travolta-esque comeback?

I'd be fine handling that off-panel so to speak. Give hints in the series finale that Vince is about to make a huge comeback.

I'd like to see Entourage continue for a good, long time, but I stopped caring about the actual plots a long time ago. More than anything else, Entourage is an ensemble show to me. I basically tune in to see all of the characters interact. It doesn't really matter to me what they're doing.

Well it was a decent ending to a very good season. I think it was the predictable ending but a fitting one. Glad Drama got a happy ending and E was vindicated. I think there needs to be more than one more season. The comeback has yet to be covered...

Good point, but I do want some progression for these characters. I like to think Entourage isn't just a sitcom, which it's slowly becoming.

****! I missed the finale last night :csad:

Well, yeah. It'd be nice if they could fix the few flaws they have, too, like how they drop plot lines with no warning or follow-up. But just seeing the characters interact for another season or two would be enough for me.

Thats my one complaint. We didn't get to see E get vindicated. Just an "I told you so" to Billy or an "I'm sorry" from Vince would've made all the difference for me.

Maybe the whole thing with Anna and the earlier disagreements with Vince over Billy, coupled with Eric's handling of the situation after Medillin bombed, were meant to show us that Eric now has a renewed commitment to Vince and his career. He's not going to throw "I told you so's" around because that doesn't really accomplish anything. He's just going to continue to be supportive to Vince. I guess we'll find out next season.

Still, Vince made E lose a very important client that could've very well meant expansion of his company, he allowed E to have a fool made of himself in that interview with Billy, and been an all around jerk to E all year. A simple "I'm sorry" from Vince would've been great being as he screwed E.

It would've been nice in the finale, but it's still not entirely off the table. Remember in the first season, when Vince was being a complete dick to E all season long? He apologized by finally agreeing to respect E as his manager rather than treating him like his buddy who happened to help him out with stuff, and he later gives him that car and acknowledges that E turned Vince on to Queens Boulevard and stuff. So maybe we'll see the apology for Vince being completely wrong to throw all his faith in Billy throughout the next season rather than in one overly blunt "I'm sorry" scene.

lol@ the boys having a "Oh well" attitude regarding the failure of the movie.

It'd be nice to see something actually shake Vince for once. He's a little too carefree all the time, I think.

You know what I'm saying?! lol. The Last episode felt like the first time ages they took it back to focusing on the industry aspect. People complained about Season 3 but in retrospect it was a whole lot more interesting (especially the first half) than this season. The first episode of this season was one of the best of the series though.

Well, the only one who really has anything to paniac over is Turtle. Vince will always get some sort of work. Even if it is on a stage, on The Surreal Life, or doing Japanese commercials, whatever. He is established enough to make money somehow. Not the kind he is used to, but Vince doesn't seem so material that it would matter all that much.

E could probably get a job due to his experience. Hell, if him and Vince went completely broke, I could see Ari giving E a job in The Miller-Gold Agency. Ari at least respects E, even if they disagree. I think if E needed it, Ari would help.

Turtle on the other hand really has no options at all. He is making a career of being a mooch. I suppose he could mooch of Drama, but who would want to put up with that? :cwink:

If Turtle actually worked at his recording stuff, he could probably make a name for himself.

This was a series finale to me, the show has been running on fumes since the midway point of season 3 and is just getting to far into sitcom territory for me, they might want to think about adding a laugh track next season. The finale just left a bad taste in my mouth, showed everything wrong about the show. E and Turtle continue to not evolve, if they try (E with Anna Faris, Turtle with the music career), it's taken away and they continue to just follow in Vince's footsteps. Vince doesn't care about anything, his career is screwed, he sunk all his money into a crappy movie and is contracted to make another movie with the same director, also he's burned a lot of bridges in Hollywood, yet he doesn't seem to have a care in the world. He could've been huge, but instead decided to commit career suicide. Then you've got Drama's ever increasing ridiculous plotlines, it's seriously like watching a sitcom with his wacky adventures.

But...it is to an extent a sitcom. It is a situation comedy. As for characters moving away from Vince, it wouldn't be called "Entourage" if they did.

And well, Vince's careless attitude makes sense if you really look about it. Actors in age and level from Lindsay Lohan to Tom Cruise are incredibly wreckless with their careers. It is very much a current trend in Hollywood.

Corp already pointed out that this show is basically about the ensemble cast.

Looking back in ten years, Entourage won't be seen as a great show, but definitely as a funny one.

Yeah, if you're looking to Entourage for brilliant, thought-provoking TV, you've got it all wrong. Entourage is funny at the surface level and never really delves much deeper than that. One might even call it a nice allegory for Hollywood itself.
