Entourage

I actually enjoyed Dom tonight....I can't stand Bob however:cmad:. Funny you mention Dana Gordon
I read that she becomes the head of WB

Also I know Josh Weinstein returns so I think he might step in and try and take Vince(that's what a future episode description indicates.)

Nor do I. First it seems very odd that an agent (even one as influential as Ari) would be named president of the biggest production studio in Hollywood.

Its not that odd... The entertainment business is an odd place and a president of a company does the same thing an agent does but on a much larger scale. So who knows.

Wow. I'm surprised at how much I truly enjoyed this episode. It revealed a lot. And yet a lot of people did not enjoy it as much. Hm.

The Ramones project is back. Vince will probably lose Smokejumpers and gain I Wanna Be Sedated. That was my hope from the very get-go of the season, even ever since Medellin bombed at the end of season 4, I thought, somehow I Wanna Be Sedated is gonna come back because its perfect for Vinnie. Perfect. He has the age, the look, everything.

I think Vince will end up doing SmokeJumpers and it will be a huge hit.

I didn't mind Dom so much the the first time because I never expected him to be permanent.

Now I literally hate Dom and this stupid storyline. I hated the whole stupid Dom pity party. Oh look at Dom changed, and he really didn't do it. Oh Dom lost his family, poor poor Dom. Remember all those times Dom stuck up for us? They should just rename the character Bill Brasky.

Give it a rest. There's an old saying. You can't get blood out of a stone.

Caught the last three episodes. Pretty dang funny. The first two were really good and loved E getting in the predicament and not getting shat on by Vince for taking the Norton deal. The second episode in the desert with the shrooms was a great "sitcomy" episode. The last was a little slow with the only plot that really stood out is Ari on the golf course. I loved seeing Bob and Alan back. And Alan dying, even after winning was hilarious.

Can someone give me a brief summary of what happened in the first 15 minutes? I was watching the baseball game.

Would anyone else sort of like Ari to take the Warners' position? It would add a new dimension to the show and Llyod could run his part of Miller/Gold for awhile (with hillarious results).

I dont know. I think Ari as WB head would mean less Ari-Vince and the guys dynamic. They'll never take Ari out but I feel like we already get enough Ari without the actual entourage.

Yeah, that would be the downside, because between the second episode of this season and the scene in the hanger, they have had some really good interaction this year.

I would actually LOVE for Ari to take the Warners position. I think the show's dynamics are starting to get stale and that would be a great way to shake 'em up, b/c the tribulations of a talent agent? Not exactly the same as a studio head. Plus, I like to think that would lead to Lloyd moving up the career ladder, too, which would be awesome.

Sadly, I don't think it's gonna happen, though. The aforementioned disconnect from the entourage being the main reason.

I dont think you are really shaking up the dynamic. Its more like getting rid of it altogether.

That's probably true. I guess I just don't think that would be a bad thing at this juncture. Weeds completely threw out the book for their 4th season, and imo, it was just the kind of shake up that show needed. And this change wouldn't be as drastic as theirs was, either.

true, but weeds is a show that is based primarily on the concept of a housemaker selling drugs. Entourage is based on the relationships of the characters with Hollywood serving as a backdrop

Ari and Vince could still be friends, though, and work together as well. In fact, it would be an interesting twist if now Ari wasn't working Vince but the other way around (if Vince did Smoke Jumpers, for example, Ari would definitely be Boss). Their relationship would have to evolve (much like Vince and E's when E became a big-time talent manager), and I think that would be a good thing. The conflict would actually be more organic than this show's been for a while. And if the writers were worried about the disconnect, they could always have Vince sign a 3-year deal with Warner Bros., so Ari would always be involved (for probably the rest of the show's run).

But don't worry, as I said, I really don't think that's happening, anyway. I'm just dreaming here.

I'm just going to be pissed if it's Vince that keeps him from taking the job. Vince keeps making these decisions to not "sell out" and whatnot, which basically screws everyone (including himself) over. It wasn't too long ago that Vince FIRED Ari as his agent, so for him to keep Ari from making a huge career move would suck.

I hope to god ari takes the job, and i hope vince doesn't stop him from not taking it. I'm starting to hate vince because he's important, but he always gets upset when others around him are moving on. same thing with E and now Ari. Ari is doing a job, and he essentially got promoted. why should he stay back for vince, like DD said, considering vince fired him in a heartbeat, i don't think ari should really consider vince for his taking his job.

anyone curious as to who the second client is. he said he would really only upset two people, and one of which is vince. unless someone know who it is already?

I don't get why Vince doesn't really want Ari to take the job. I mean, it'll guarantee him a lifetime of work. They made it more like a tragic breakup than the next step.

I pretty much agree with you guys, I'd like to see this happen, as it's the only way for the show to grow. Ari's busted his ass for Vince time and agaid, and Vince needs to realize that something like this can only help his career.

As for the episode, I loved the whole thing with E and the model, and her showing him her demo reel!! That was hilarious!

so am I the only one who would've still let Jason Isaacs blow me if I was getting a million dollars out of the deal? Does that make me gay? or just an opportunist? or both?

What obstacle would Vince have if Ari did take the job? He'd more or less be certained to get or at least be considered for any job he wanted. That's the #1 reason why he won't take it. I bet you he gets to the table to sign and then reconsiders. His wife will likely be the voice of reason as usual.

I bet Ari doesn't take it but suggests Dana Gordon for the position.

First of all, I agree with you on what will probably happen. That said, what obstacle would Vince have if Ari took the job? Let's see, Ari would be a studio head now, which means the only way he gets to keep is job is if the studio makes money. Which means, Ari, now higher up on the food chain than Vince, can't be worried about Vince's career/the quality of the projects as much as the commercial potential of the films (and Vince's involvement). I see A TON of conflict potential in that scenario, especially since, by nature, Vince is all about "the art." It could put some serious strain/tension on their friendship, which would make for some good drama for a season or two.

the guys Ari is going with said he was attempting to buy the company, so nothing is official yet anyway right?

and on Vince firing Ari, he had every right to, and Ari knew it. it was pretty clear and obvious from even before he fired Ari that he would be hiring him back again.
