The scene when Old Barry and RF fight in the past will happen in the future right? And during that scene Eobard had his old Body?

Unless Eobard completely changed the whole entire future by getting stuck in the past? But if that were true then how would his "Flash missing after crisis" still be happening?

Time travel is wacky lol.

Hopefully not. Cavanaugh is doing a great job and it would not feel right seeing anyone else play the RF. Right now I feel everyone else would be a step down, Cavanaugh is the RF as far as I am concerned. That said, "if" there was a better performance or a different performance that was on par quality wise with Cavanaugh's that gave new layers to the character from someone else then it would make me reconsider and become more open minded about it but that is a big "if".

Yeah same Cavanaugh is great but I am just saying logically he would return to his old body unless I am missing something about the timeline.

Nah, remember, Eobard has been stuck for 15 years. The Wells we know already had that fight. He won't be going back again. Even if they beat Eobard right now, Barry still has to go back and have that fight with a younger version of Eobard who had his original face.

Ah right ok. That makes sense.

I would hope they keep Cavanaugh as Dr. Wells/RF going forward. Though regardless of that there is the possibility of seeing pre-Wells/RF in Barry's future since, even in the changed timeline, there would need to be a younger RF in Barry's future to travel back in the first place. Though it's a matter of how far in the future does the younger RF actually appear for the first time.

Technically,Eobard is still in his old body.Only,it now looks like Harrison Wells.

Just sayin.....

I'm sure Barry will eventually face off against young Eobard Thawne in his original body in another season. This season though, Cavanaugh is for all intents and purposes, Eobard Thawne and the Reverse Flash

He's been fused with the organic material of the original Wells, for all intents and purposes, it's a new body.

I'm saying "His old body" suggests his mind transferred FROM his body to another host (think Logan in DOFP), but to be accurate his body transformed into Wells- not into Wells body.

Edit: the reason his blood didn't match Wells in the Allen house is because he is indeed still in his own body!

The guy they had playing Eobard was okay, but Cavanagh is much better. They should keep him.

Our Barry has yet to travel back in time and have that fight in his house 15 years prior, so at some point RF with his original face is going to show up (or Wells face reverts back), thus battling in the house. My only issue is, if this is the case and that battle is yet to happen, Wells/RF is going to already know that going back, is going to leave him stranded, so it's like he's reliving the same events, over and over again..

I know how Eobard got his name. He was originally called Shakespeare, and someone shouted out "Yo, bard, write us a new sonnet won't you?"

That wasn't this Barry. That was a Barry whose mother was never killed and that got his powers in 2020. This Barry might go back and fight RFlash but it could have a totally different outcome.
Also it will not be the current RFlash (with Well's body) he'd be fighting. This Wells has already had the fight. He could go back and replace his past self (just as Barry did when he went back in time) in fact they both could. But again anything can happen and if they change anything it could revert the time line (Barry's mum not dying) or create a new one. This is what I think will happen as it gives them the option of keeping Well's (original not rflash) in the show as a good guy. It would effect Arrow as well though. Although probably not that much.

I think Tom Cavanagh will stay on the show as the REAL Harrison Wells, and Matt Letscher will be The Reverse Flash.

Tom Cavanagh is too much of a huge talent to leave this show. He's arguably my favorite part of the series. He's an amazing actor.

That guy we saw play the character for about three minutes of screentime was okay, but the one who has been playing him for almost 20 episodes is much better. They should keep him.

Fixed.

Dudes, I will go you all one better......TEAM-UP ! courtesy of the wonders of time travel we get a team up with Reverse Flash (Matt) and Reverse Flash (Tom), two RF's in one episode ! N ow that would be tough for Barry to handle...unless of course he too could team up with a version of himself from a different time period (or a bunch of other superheroes).

I'm thinking this might be what happens, too.

We ought to have a thread for Matt Letscher IS Eobard Thawne/ Reverse Flash.

And what if the original Harrison Wells is restored eventually? Then the other thread will have to just be Tom Cavanagh is Harrison Wells, without the Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash bit added to it.

While I do not want that to happen, the more I think about it, that is a big possibility. Harrison Wells role in the team is a big one and it is hard to imagine the team without him and he would be hard to replace. This way the dynamic of the team remains while someone else is the RF. I really hope Cavanaugh stays as RF though but perhaps whoever replaces him could be great.

Harrison Wells kind of reminds me of Adam Kane from Mutant X - the Professor X-like strategic scientist figure behind all of the heroes. He even looks a bit similar to John Shea, and he has a wheelchair like Charles Xaiver. :word:

What if Eobard Thawne eventually takes over Henry Allen's body? Imagine him hiding out there as Barry's father.

I actually suspected this from the very beginning of the series. I thought Thawne might've had surgery to look like Henry Allen, so when he was finally unmasked, it would be a huge shock to Barry.

I think it would've been pretty cool, but I'm happy with the way things have turned out.
