Episode 10: 'Hunters' review thread.

By far the best Blade ep, and it's no coincidence that it's an ep in which Krista is sidelined.

Sticky's Blade finally started to pick up some of the beats that were lacking mainly, humor. ("Go get some ice cream." "I think I see the light.") They also finally portrayed Blade as a badass, with the ease in which he took out Krista & the White Prince and the way Bethany reacted to him. And man, the way he took out the White Prince? Brutal. The fights were also a marked improvement. It was great to learn just a little more about Shen and see him in action.

This is how the Blade series should be, IMHO. The Daywalker taking out vamps and righting wrongs.

I most definitely concur with you on all of your points.

She said hours old actually, which just makes it even sicker.

"Go get some ice cream!" LOL! That was classic. Wow, an episode that was mostly about Blade and Shen. Kirk Jones is starting to seem more comfy as Blade. Great episode, like Blade meets Silence of the Lambs. That girl who plays Charlotte gives me the whoo-boo jeebies. She's just creepy.

I'm going to have to go against the grain here, and say that I find the episodes that heavily feature Krista, Marcus and Chase to be infinitely more interesting.

The whole Blade strong silent type bores me to tears.

While I think Sticky's portrayal has been a bit dry he's beginning to get better. I'm wondering why you started watching the series if you didn't care about Blade?

great episode. i know i say this everytime, but this series gets better and better each time out.

and blade actually had quite a bit of screentime in this one, and he was pretty good, too.

Dude, we got the point the first time you posted it. Why 3 posts?

I was busy so I had to set my VCR to record this ep, and I finally watched it a bit ago. AWESOME episode. The jaw-rip and window death were badass. It was great to see such a creepy villain this time and see Blade get brutal on his buttcheex. Mmm.. girl-on-girl action next week. :woot:

Because I like the whole vampire world aspect of the series. Blade is pretty much the only thing I dislike about the show. Every other character in there works for me.

For me, I wouldn't miss Blade if he were cut completely, and the story focussed on Marcus and his struggle against the purebloods, with Krista slowly accepting what she had become.

Agreed. This episode is everything this series always should've been.

Blade gets to show more personality (he even smiles once) and more humor. He's the focus of the show and Krista is FINALLY sidelined. There's a lot more action than we've seen in about THREE WEEKS now, and a memorable villian.

So cool.

Someone on the staff better be taking notes on this ep.

No. The site lists next weeks episode as the penultimate episode.

Only 12 episodes? Suck!

It seems unlikely that we'll be getting any kind of resolution to this season-long arc, then.

I'm sure everyone is up for more episodes like this if Blade is called back for a second season.

Well, the site lists 13 episodes, but that's because the season opener was counted as two rather than one episodes.

So only two left. :(

I think the writers planned a lot of the arcs to carry on through the second season. If the show doesn't get picked up, which apparantly is only 50/50, we're no doubt going to have an end to the show that leaves things completely open, and isn't very satisfying.

If they were smart, they would've done what shows like "Ed" and "Everwood" did - filming a few different versions of the "final scenes" of each season, just in case the show doesn't get picked up and they need something a little more closed-ended.

Alas.

I really wanted to see Blade take down Marcus this year, so that there was the potential next year for a new villian to rise in his place. I can easily envision Chase taking over and coming more into her own - she's pretty damn brutal and extremely focused on her own desires.

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually made Chase a major heavy in lieu of Marcus. Heliping Marcus take out Charlotte might be Chase lulling him into a false sense of security.

Yeah this was by far the best episode, Kirk has done his best acting yet and the subplots were well played out. The last two episodes will rock I'm thinking

They definitely planned for long story arcs. Goyer has stated he has 5 seasons worth of episodes plotted out. I'm just hoping that Blade isn't canceled on a cliffhanger. I hate it when that happens to shows.

this was an awesome episode, blade is so awesome, this show rocks

this was my favorite episode, I love the marcus/chase/krista sub plot but the reason I started watching the show was BLADE.

the focus should be ablout BLADE with interesting SUB PLOTS with the supporting cast.

sticky's skills are getting better as is his one liners.

if this show is cancelled only after a season that will be a real shame as the characters and the storylines will only get better.

but if the worst comes to the worst I hope goyer isn't using a cliffhanger for the final episode.
