Episode 13 - "The Fix" - Discussion Thread 1/29/07

I actually never read that chapter of the online comic, but the episode made sense to me. Sylar wasn't drugged/sedated before his attack, he was just contained and de-powered. After the attack on Eden, he's doped out of his gourd. He's very obviously tranq-ed and we saw last night that he'd been kept that way (though, he seems to have been faking at some point). For a show that has so much story to cover in an hour, I'm not surprised they left out the actual take-down. What I don't think has been answered in the show or the comics is how he figured out how to break the glass and get around his power-restraints. Please correct me if I'm wrong, there's so much to keep track of.

You're doin a damn good job keeping most of your facts straight. Maybe you should watch Lost and really test your skills.....and patience :p

No she didn't have it wiped clean.

And WHOA Claire's mom is the freakin human torch :o

yep

Why doesn't her polish melt?

Last night's episode was awesome. I bit slow, but damn it was still great. Good for Claire on finding her mom, and damn she's has like a Pyro type power.

I'm saying Eric Roberts is Claire's father.

 Uh, Peter wants Claude to teach him what he knows. How does he gain Claude's knowledge if Claude doesn't teach him?

I consider telling fundamentally different than teaching, even though both are forms of distributing information. My perspective indicated that Peter would want Claude to tell him what's going on, and then Peter asked to be taught, before most of the indications of Claude's expertise were even dropped.

If there had been any indication that Pete was looking for a teacher, instead of just more info, it would have slid as smooth as butter. You make good points about Peter's trusting personality, and reviewing the episode in my head, I do see how the progression into the teaching idea could have occured naturally, assuming a desperate peter jumped on the first good idea that came in his head (Hey, this guy could teach me!) but on my first viewing, it was very disjointed to me and I don't feel the show did a good job of portraying that progression. I just don't.

Here's my question... didn't Haitian say at some time that Claire's parents worked for her father? I think I need to go review that ep or something...

It's just getting annoying the past two episodes everything was filler until the last 10 minutes, which were totally bad ass. These two episodes could have very easily been one. I'm so bored of DL/Micah/Nikki/Jessica....So very boring the heck out of me. I never pay any attention to their scenes at all.

It seems they'll be getting more action-packed in the next few episodes, and I have high hopes. We'll see.

I got to admit the scenes with DL, Micah, Nikki were pretty dull this time. :csad: Although, seeing Micah getting money from the ATM was pretty cool. If I had his powers, I think I'll never get a job. :oldrazz:

Anyways, the scenes with them are alot more interesting when it features the Jessica personality than the Nikki personality. I'm hoping Jessica takes over and then just start wrecking havoc.

He was referring to the fake parents that HRG set up to meet with Claire. The doctor/scientist that Sylar killed in this episode was the guy that posed as her father.

And you know if they cut out these last two episodes and cut right to the action you would all be complaining so give up and go watch another show
I enjoy Nikki/DL/Micah story as long as they dont do too much of it like they did in this last episode
I cant wait to see the shrink talk to Jessica
I dont think Linderman or Nate is Claire's father
I'll be interested to see who it actually is on Monday

Another filler episode with a great cliffhanger this time.

I also like Nikki as I feel she's probably one of the strongest characters in the show, both phisically and mentally. Her husband on the other hand is a big wuss. Not that I don't like DL but in this episode it seemed like every line he had he was choked up with emotion. :) Glad to see the kid is FINALLY doing something with his power, which let's face it... is what we all would do. :D

So Claire's mom is a pyro-****. Interesting. I knew they would use pyrokinetics at some point. It's far too cool a power, visually speaking, not to use it.

And this goes without saying but Sendhil is a gorgeus man. A little on the skinny side, but a beautiful face.

Now I'm seeing **** on that picture. Maybe it's Claire's mom?

Why doesn't her polish melt?
Probably for the same reason Johnny of the FF always still has clothes when he lands from flying -- it's magic! :D

does she buy her nail polish with unstable molecules?

I watched the episode with a friend last night, and we couldn't help but think the whole Hiro storyline is getting a little silly. All this nonsense about him losing his power and needing a sword, it's just all a horribly contrived way of getting him the sword his future self had.

I've enjoyed the episodes on the whole so far, but the comeback has been a little slow. I'm really hoping it picks up a touch. By the end of this episode, I felt as though it had really only just started to get going.

Where do you get those unstable molecules anyhow? Wally-Mart? :p
