Episode 12 - "Godsend" - Discussion Thread

while we're on it, am I the only one who finds the transitions and converstions between Niki and Jessica sorta lame when it doesn't involve some reflecting surface?
No, it was way more effective in the first half of the season. They should never have shown her transition on-camera.

no because they're actually kinda funny when she's holding a conversation with herself. when there's third person in the room it works out a lot better.

It's also humanly impossible to wake up in a jump, like Mime Petrelli did - or almost every damn movie character just waking up from a nightmare.

But then again, flying is also very hard to accomplish, so there.

How do you figure its impossible. People wake up from nightmares like that. You could be having a nightmare and suddenly bolt awake, your whole body would be on edge... your heart would be trying to thunder out of your chest.

Milo Ventimiglia's really showing his acting chops too... even after spending the entire episode in a "coma", he still managed to steal the show with that horrifying scream at the end when he woke up.

I know that scream scared the hell out of me. His extended vision/dream scared the hell out of me too. My father was watching with me and when Peter exploded my father sat forward in his chair and just said "Damn!"

I wish someone had been in the room with him, Nathan or Mama Petrelli, so we could get their freaked out reaction.

eh, it's alright some of the time, but I hope they don't keep it this way.

Fantastic episode. It was a great way to start of the show's return! I loved everything about it. It loved how each hero or character had time to appear during the whole hour. Best part the explosion! My mought lterally dropped seeing that part. :wow: Hiro was just all kinds of awesome. I can't wait for him to get his sword. Heroes owns my life! Can't wait for next week.

I kinda wished we'd seen more with Matt and his wife exploring his powers. Ah well :(

Yeah, I wanna know how she reacts to the news that her husband is a mind-reading bada$$.

Hopefully we wont have to wait too long to get her reaction to his ability. I wonder if thats how he finds out about her...erm, condition?

I like Matt and his wife. People acan hate janice for what she did to nice guy Matt but I like her.:woot:

then how do you wake up from a nightmare?

cause i've sprung up in the middle of the night like that on more than one occassion.

Eyes wide open. That's all.

No you didn't. You can't go from REM to motion like that. When you're in REM, your body gets "shut down" by the brain for safety reasons. That's the reason some people wake up paralyzed for some moments.

really? so my body's springing upright in my bed was just in my head or what?

Is Peter springing up after a nightmare your main point of contention in a show about people with special powers?

I'm REALLY starting to hate that super-hero-kiddnaping SOB, what's-his-name?

What a great episode...I just finished watching it. I'm interested to see how Simone's story will turn out...since I believe she will be the next character to die.

I also thought the scene with Claire re-enacting her taping scene with Zach was very moving. It's the start of Claire accepting 'her inner freak' and accepting her ability as part of something bigger.

It kinda makes me wonder what I would do if I had super-powers...

I still think the dreams Peter have are more symbolic than an actual premonition. Just like his dream about Simone's father that never actually happened.

I think the dream of him exploding is actually somebody else, presumably Ted Sprague. Because Peter is an empath....he puts himself in the position of the people he is connected to.

You never know... The show IS known for it's insane plot twists.
Hey, what the hell happened with Syler? The previous episode had him breaking the glass, stealing that chick's powers, and killing her. Why didn't he escape?
