Episode 12 - "Godsend" - Discussion Thread

You never know... The show IS known for it's insane plot twists.
Hey, what the hell happened with Syler? The previous episode had him breaking the glass, stealing that chick's powers, and killing her. Why didn't he escape?

she shot herself in the head so that he couldn't steal her powers. He ended up getting shot with a bunch of tranq's offscreen.

Is Peter springing up after a nightmare your main point of contention in a show about people with special powers?

No, but people saying that they spring like that in REAL LIFE is.

that's been bothering me too!

lol-worthy

It was just in your head.
doubtful. since i also lied back down after readjusting my body position and the like. :oldrazz:

They said that they tried a bunch of test on Sylar to see what powers he had and he was all tranqued up

that explains the condition he was in DURING the episode. not how he got to be that way.

again, giant hole in the glass, his only means of stopping him is now dead...what prevented him from running away?

His really long eyebrows?

OF COURSE! he tripped on them. it's so simple.

good job detective.

it can get you to college and numerous jobs that pay only slightly higher than minimum wage. ah, the American dream!!

i never read those things. they're another reason why i don't think the show will last for too long. two seasons might just be the limit before shark jumping happens.

it comes from an episode of Happy Days when Fonzie, literally, jumps over a shark. it's when a show has some plot twist that you know is just going to bring about the end of the show.

This may have been mentioned but I find it very amusing that Eccleston's character is supposedly invisible and named Claude and the first invisible man was played by Claude Rains in 1933.

Eyes wide open. That's all.

No you didn't. You can't go from REM to motion like that. When you're in REM, your body gets "shut down" by the brain for safety reasons. That's the reason some people wake up paralyzed for some moments.

Yes your body can. It's not likely, but it does happen. I've bolted awake before, not to mention that there is a condition known as night terrors.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_terror

The subject wakes abruptly from the fourth stage of sleep, with waking usually accompanied by gasping, moaning, or screaming.

I don't think it was done with any kind of special effects. I think the "big black thing" that passed in front of Nikki was just showing the viewer that she was changing personalities.

lol The 'big black thing" was the lawyer. Notice how the camera always pans past someone or something in between Nikki and the camera right when the change to Jessica happens.

not always just normally
I found it odd that there were added scenes to the vision
Almost like Peter was having a new vision and that there were no other heroes we havent met yet like Hana in the original
Its just like if we get to that point at the end of the season I dont want there to be a lot of surprise added shots like all of a sudden this character who you didnt know at the time has suddenly appeared
I think it would have been a cool ending if Claude and possibly Hana or whatever other characters were in the vision at the end of the break episode and its like who are these ppl and you spend the next month going wtf

i wonder how niki/jessica's "power" affects peter
he might become superstrong or do whatever jessica does

which brings me to another theory, maybe the one with the supertrenght is nikki and jessica has some other power, like astral projecting

^ I was thinking something along those lines. If he meets Jessica he might just accidentley jump bodies or something. Ought to make a funny and interesting episode.

It'd be very interesting to see. But I'm not so sure about any body switching since the RNA symbol only ever appears on Jessica.

LOL, I'll bet that's no acccident. :D
