Episode 4: The Nexus Event (Spoiler Discussion)

It's a reference to a myth that has also been adapted in the comics several times

My first thought was Blade to be honest.

Yep, was wondering this before and became pretty sure once Mobius was pruned. Glad they confirmed it

His classic look of course

I'm not sure if it's a version of Mjolnir, though it could be I guess. It has a wrench for a handle. He's credited as "Boastful Loki".

Well in the comics there are a bunch of identical looking TVA agents; Mobius, Tesseract, Paradox, Orobourous, etc. so it may be fun to see that here.
- I know the story. It was more about her appearing on the show at all. Especially with all the different Lokis running around.

- This was 100% a joke about Tyrese acting a fool again. Snow brought up Blade when the reference dropped to me. :hehe:

- I know the look. It was more fun at you know, them dressing Richard E. Grant up in such a manner.

- Good to know.

- It's going to get nuts. :D

I mean did people really think they’d kill off Tom with two episodes left?

Meh. More Loki fake deaths? Really? I almost bought it when Mobius got pruned, but then got smacked in the face with disappointment when she did it to Loki.

For once, I thought this universe might actually have some stakes:

John Campea has called it the Marvel Cinematic Fake Death Universe.

By far the best episode, I have no other words. They should campaign Wilson for Emmy 2022 with this episode.

I geeked out seeing the Loki with the classic costume. Since he was also older I got the feeling that it could be the one that conquered Asgard in Blood Brothers.

Love that almost nothing outside of Sylie's enchantment kick starting someone to turn against the TVA came true from my and others' speculation.

You can't predict this show in a good way.

And the final 15 minutes and the post credit scene are just chock full of bombshells and great moments.

Just two more to get to the bottom of things.

So... with the post credit scene:

We have seen "politician" Loki in ads and stills but so far haven't reached that point. If Loki is prisoner on a world of Alt-Lokis then maybe he attempts to "run" for leader and marshal them together to defeat the TVA?

Also:
Pour one out for the homie...

My question is... Did he wake up and was greeted by Night At The Museum, Life Aquatic and Starsky And Hutch Owen Wilsons?

Whether people die has no bearing on whether there's stakes since there are tons of other things that can be at stake in a story. It's also weird to use the "for once" even if you had just mentioned deaths and not stakes since characters have died in the MCU and your statement is one that says that it's yet to happen.

Wow, what an episode. The mid-credits scene was everything, but my only question is what happened to all the timelines that Sylvie bombed? It appears that nothing is wrong now.

Maybe that's the point. These nexus events and branches don't actually do anything or they're supposed to happen or it's all just a ruse. I'm questioning everything the TVA has said about their role.

To be honest I checked out after Morbious got pruned came here and realized I need to go back and finish lol

I feel like a group of Lokis needs a name (ala "pride of lions" "murder of crows" "gaggle of geese" etc...), what should we call them?

A Mischief of Lokis
A Chaos of Lokis

Throw out your ideas, lets come up with one :oldrazz:

A *****e.

A gathering of Lokis is a *****e.

I am confused

If Loki survived getting "pruned" with that stick, and got teleported on that destroyed New York with the other Loki's, does that mean Mobius also survived and is there?

Amazing episode.

Loved seeing Sif back!

Can't wait to see how things will wrap up.

So far this is my favourite of the 3 MCU shows so far. Seems to have the biggest scope and feels the craziest.

I really hope it leads to something in the larger universe, as I feel so far if you skipped any of the shows, you wouldn't miss anything in the bigger picture of the films.

Both WV and TFATWS ended almost at the same point where they started (Wanda overcoming Vision in Endgame vs overcoming Vision in her show & Mackie being given the shield in Endgame vs him becoming Cap at the end of TFATWS).

I really hope Loki properly opens the Multiverse, but I guess Feige won't make the shows too impactful for the audiences that skip them and only watch the films.

I took it as everyone getting pruned either gets dropped in the same, shared, trash reality or you go to a reality where all variants of the same individual end up in one place.

most likey.

and this is the episode thread. anything that happened in this episode probably doesn't require spoiler tags.

Will do a proper review later, but I loved this episode from beginning to end!

The cast, the performances, writing, twists and turns, VFX, cinematography were all awesome!

That post-credits sequence! :wow:

Also, when Loki got escorted by the TVA guards towards the end, the score reminded me of the theme from Netflix’s Daredevil.

Its wierd that Jaimie Alexander is not even in the main credits or as a special guest appereance or did I miss something?

So...

Sylvie and Loki connecting, and not necessarily in a romantic way, was the Nexus event of the title I think.
Möbius and the gang at the TVA made note of it.

I am betting Silvie doesn't make it out of the series alive but her impact on Loki is very big and that moment will be the key in whatever Loki does going forward.

so mobius told loki his sole purpose was for him to make others their best selves. in an ironic way, that may be sylvie's role here.

This was another 10/10. Great return to form after last week's divisive and disappointing episode.

I love the idea of Loki in love with himself. :hehe: I ship it.

The writing and dialogue on this one was back to the excellence of the first two. Hiddleston and Wilson killed it in their scenes.

I'm in agreement with many of you that Loki Season 1 could be the origin story of a certain time-travelling villain from the comics, who could be behind the whole TVA.
