That's b!+<hes for all you asterisk impaired.
Last talked about two months ago, The Hollywood Reporter now confirms the Fox network is officially developing the television series "*****es."
ShockTillYouDrop.com spoke to creator Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns, X2: X-Men United)) about the project's origins in October. The conceit is this: Four women live their New York lives while also dealing with their lycanthropy. "How can you date and fall in love with someone when you're a werewolf and you start to turn when you're aroused?"
"Pushing Daises'" Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg were recently brought on to supervise Dougherty's work. They'll serve as executive producers should the show see life as a series.
Here's how that meeting went down...
Fox Exec 1: It sure is hard being a edgy network these days! EsPecially with all the censorship we put up with that cable doesn't.
Fox Exec 2: Seriously! The test audience's reaction to next fall's Racist Rapists and Mentally Challenged Little People were ho-hum at best.
Fox Exec 1: Is that was the FCC forced us to change "******ed Midgets" to? God, they're killing us! We can't even make shows with outrageous names like... like "*****es" anymore!
Fox Exec 2: Yeah, well, not unless its about something like female werewolves. The feminist groups are just gonna loooovvveee...
Fox Exec 1: Wait a second! That's brilliant! We can make a show called "*****es" about female werewolves! It's so edgy, our cable news channel will absolutely hate us for it!
Fox Exec 2: That's the best idea since ABC's show about Cavemen!
Fox Exec 1: Oh yeah. How IS that doing?
Fox Exec 2: I haven't really watched it but with a premise that solid, it probably won them a few Emmys...
