The protagonist is a sworn bodyguard of Princess Arianna. When you start the game, one of the first places you’ll visit is Ginnungagap, where monsters will attack at every corner. Fortunately, the protagonist can harness the power of the Fafnir and transform into a beastly demonic to access new abilities in battle. How he obtained this power and what it means is explained during the game.

NIS America is bringing Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight to 3DS in Europe in early 2016, the publisher announced.
It will be released both physically and digitally.
The dungeon RPG was previously announced as coming to North America this summer.
Get the rundown below. If you missed it, catch the protagonist trailer here.
About
The next entry of the Etrian Odyssey Untold series is essentially two games in one – the first, a Nintendo 3DS update to Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard (released on Nintendo DS) with new dungeon layouts, new graphics, and system improvements from the recent Etrian Odyssey Untold. The second is the Untold portion – a brand new story mode with a fixed party, voiced dialogue, and animated cutscenes that follows the bittersweet tale of the Fafnir Knight and Princess Arianna. Like Persona Q, the Untold portion of the game has a strong focus on characters and their interactions as the story about the Fafnir Knight and Princess Arianna unfolds as they adventure forth into the ruins of Ginnungagap and the Yggdrasil Labyrinth with the hero Flavio and the two mysterious adventurers, Bertrand and Chloe.
Key Features

  • Creatures of Comfort – Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold has a level of refinement that could only come from seven iterations of the game. Vastly improved game systems make Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold easily approachable for beginners, but still challenging for die-hard veterans.
  • Brand New Additions – The game features a brand new character class called the Fafnir. Only available in the game’s Story mode, the Fafnir gives players the ability to transform into a beastly demonic form to enhance attributes and abilities – potentially turning a losing battle into a narrow victory. New changes to the Grimoire stone system let players customize their entire party as well, allowing members to use abilities from different classes.
  • Bring a Blanket – Just as in Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl and Persona Q, in addition to normal difficulty, players can choose Picnic mode for a low-difficulty experience, or the veterans amongst them can choose Expert mode for a punishing play-through.

Going old school in the upcoming 3DS sequel.

Atlus has released a new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight introducing the game’s “Classic Mode.”
Unlike Story Mode, which follows an intricate story centered around a fixed party five characters, Classic Mode gives players access to character creation and character customization via Grimoire Stones, which let any characters use another class’ skills.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold is due out for 3DS in North America this summer and in Europe in early 2016.

Atlus has released a new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight introducing Arianna, the Princess of Caledonia and one of the dungeon RPG’s five party members.
Described as one “not one to wait in a tower and be rescued,” Arianna runs into battle head-on alongside her friends. She’s modeled after the Sovereign class and has a strong balance of defense and support abilities—passive healing, to be specific. As the princess, Arianna must trek to ancient, mysterious ruins and complete a ritual to fulfill a royal tradition to save her kingdom. But they’re home to hordes of dangerous monsters, which you’ll need to subdue in order to help Arianna complete her quest.
Outside of the new trailer, Atlus announced that it will release three 3DS themes—the “Story,” “Classic,” and “Cafe” themes—on the Nintendo eShop for $0.99 / CA$1.29 each. They’ll launch one per week starting July 14. Users who pre-order Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold from GameStop will receive a free code to download the Story theme.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon and Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker dated for Europe
Published 17 mins ago. 0 comments.
Etrian in September, followed by Devil Survivor in October.

EMD-Dated-EU.jpg

Etrian Mystery Dungeon will launch for 3DS in Europe on September 11, and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker will follow on October 30, NIS America announced.
The games will be available both at retail and digitally.
Find fact sheets for each below.
Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker
About
The world of Record Breaker is on the brink of non-existence. Just before the heralding of the apocalypse, when life was normal, some thrill-seekers were registering on a website that promised to deliver fake videos of their friends being killed. As people wondered what these videos could mean, an invasion began and humanity was forced to face a struggle to survive in an unprecedented catastrophe. For the main character and his friends, they stand up for humanity when the very same website uploads an application on their cell phones, summoning demons. From there, newly minted demon tamers begin the fight to survive and save the future of mankind, but the protagonist’s decisions aren’t without consequences. What he chooses may save the lives of his friends, or seal their fate.
Key Features

  • Tactical Combat with a Side of Demon Fusion – The elements that make the Devil Survivor series great are back and better than ever with robust, turn-based strategic combat. Since the game is part of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, fusing demons together to form a stronger army is back as a core mechanic!
  • Choose Your Own Fate – The line between life and death is razor-thin in Record Breaker. Actions have their consequences, and in the wake of the apocalypse, a wrong choice can result in the permanent death of a character. Multiple endings present the challenge of making all the right choices at the right time.
  • Tons of Extra Content – Record Breaker expands on the original Devil Survivor 2 by nearly doubling the amount of storyline for a total of more than 100 hours of strategic game play and consuming plot, with the additional mystery of Miyako Hotsuin to unravel.
  • New Personalities to Discover – For the first time, Devil Survivor 2 is getting fully voiced English story dialogue. The voiced dialogue in both the new content and the original story gives added depth in bringing the game’s characters to life from ominous beginning to dramatic end.
Etrian Mystery Dungeon
About
There’s no hand-holding in Etrian Mystery Dungeon. The action/turn based combat means that battling monsters is not just about using the right skills, but becomes an elegant Pas de Quatre of strategic positioning. Players form their parties with familiar Etrian Odyssey classes, such as Landsknecht and Runemaster, customize individuals using Etrian-style skill trees, and then take up to four members into the dungeons. Always randomized with various levels and paths, the dungeons require plenty of exploration, not to mention the incredible loot rewards — just be wary of what waits among the deepest depths…
Key Features

  • Infinite Dungeons to Explore – Etrian Mystery Dungeon incorporates the random map feature, which changes the floor terrain each time a player enters the dungeon. This core mechanic, inherited from the Mystery Dungeon series, challenges the players with a new maze and stronger monsters every time, offering them unlimited replayability!
  • Attention to Detail – The Etrian Odyssey tradition of party customization is in full effect for Etrian Mystery Dungeon. After the first journey as a Landsknecht, players can freely choose their party of 4 from up to 10 different class types. While each class has a unique skill set of its own, characters can also unlock new skills through skill trees.
  • Not Your Grandfather’s Combat – The unique perspective in Etrian Mystery Dungeon means that special care will have to be given when selecting party members and upgrading their abilities. With dungeons chock full of enemies and all the loot and money collected at stake, being 100 percent certain in your party’s abilities is crucial for making it out alive.
