Ewan McGregor Is Black Mask

Good choice, great actor. Oh and he and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a movie together, the press tour won't get awkward at all. ;)

I like McGregor. I wouldn't have thought of him for the role but I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with it.

Well Black Mask as the villain helps explain the R-rating. He's a sadist who gets off on torturing people. I mean he kidnapped Catwoman's sister and brother in law in the comics, tortured the latter to death with power tools, then forced the former to EAT parts of her husband's corpse (including his eyeballs). She had a mental breakdown and needed to be institutionalized as a consequence of this.

He also brutally tortured Stephanie Brown/Spoiler, a teenage girl, during the War Games storyline as well.

If those aren't "R-rated" then I don't know what is.

I'm sure McGregor can do a top job with this.

After JL, I'm sure WB gives a damn about who feels what.

There are two WB blockbusters released later this year staring Amber Heard and Johnny Deep, so I’m pretty sure WB won’t care about 2 cheaters working and promoting together.

I really dislike the character but I also really like the actor here, so on balance it is a positive. :cwink:

If they choose to give the character an accent, McGregor's 'repertoire' will be extended to the full.

I like McGregor as an actor. Although he does fall into the Tom Cruise/Cary Grant school of acting a little bit in that he just plays slight variations of himself rather than be immersed fully in characters. I'm not too sure about this one and hopefully he's not dug himself a shallow grave.

….or it's his lack of variety in his style will be his non-Duel role of Fate calling and that it would make Perfect Sense that he feels Black Hawk Down and should stick to Trainspotting.

...for now as The Ghost whilst contemplating things further on The Island and whether he has Fargo others roles and taken on The Impossible, such as Salmon Fishing in the Yemen :cwink:.

If he's an actual professional then no it won't be awkward.

I don't know if i believe Ewan can pull this off. He's one of my favorite actors, but as a hero, not a villain. He's just so likable.

It's a challenging role for him, has he ever played a character with negative shades ?

That's kinda where I'm at.

They needed a good actor here, otherwise I couldn't give two ****s about Black Mask.

I still say Leonardo DiCaprio would of been perfect but I am curious for this one

To be honest between this and Joker I am far more interested in this

...The people at DC Comics are sick in the head. Wtf man. :loco:

Heard and Depp aren't in the same movie together. But I do find the drama with McGregor and Winstead's exhusband hilarious.

I wonder if this film will follow within the whole fabric of the DCEU timeline? If it does then that's great but seeing Ewan cast in a CBM especially as a villain I love it...I can actually see him as Black Mask

Probably hated the prequels ;)
