Ex-Evanescence members re-unite under 'The Fallen'

Other than Ben Moody, the others were/are in a band called Machina. Machinas singer was the dude from Future Leaders Of The World. No one really cared or went to see them when they played, but I guess they had enough clout in the industry to score an Idol cast-off.

I hardly doubt it would have required that much clout to wrangle her.

finally get the link, the link don't work. = FAIL!!!

EDIT: The song's on their Myspace page. For the most part, she sings EXACTLY like Lee.

Yeah. It is actually kind of creepy, how her style is so similar. But she sounds just a little too studio to me... she lacks the thing that, well, made Amy Lee, Amy Lee.

And I dislike Carly's speaking voice.

So I just listened to their single "Bury Me Alive".

Being a huge Evanescence fan, I find it so strangely weird that you have 3 previous members trying to duplicate the sound of their original band.

Yeah. This just feels like these 4 guys found them an Amy Lee they could work with more easily? o_O

Ben Moody is not replicating the sound of his previous band, he CREATED that sound. I am not a fan of anyone involved in this project, but Ben Moody was THE force behind Evanescence. Amy Lee was the cool/semi-attractive singer that made them famous...but to call Ben and the band out for keeping their own signature style is absurd.

Did you complain when Audioslave came out and the guys from RATM kept essentially the exact same musical formula??? (that dudes supposed to be a good guitarist, but itd be cool if he wrote ONE riff that wasnt a copy of his others)

I will say that The Fallen IS a cheap knockoff of Evanescence, but whatever...that band has run its course anyway.

However...I am starting to believe that she was picked to join this band before Idol even started, and was on the show to gain exposure for the band. Idol does crap like that...and this chick is apparently best friends with Ben Moody's room mate, so I doubt that it was a coincidence that occured after Idol was done...

Well of course he's replicating it since it is as you said his signature sound. I just don't see why form a new band with a female vocalist that sounds almost exactly like Amy Lee. It's almost like he's saying "We don't need you".

Edit: And no, I didn't complain about Audioslave :P

All I saw of the thread title was Ex-Evanescence members.... I thought more celebs died.

When I first heard all about this, I was confused as hell.

But it makes sense. It's bizarre, but it makes sense. LOL @ the name, though. The Fallen? Really?

The name has been changed to "We Are The Fallen" after some Philadelphia band sued

I liked Evanescence when they first came out, and I will forever love Amy Lee for what she did in that first album. Lord knows what that band has been up to these days.

Lee should just go solo.

Great, another band with a declarative statement for a band name! :whatever:

But yeah, the major point here is that their lead singer in a carbon copy for Lee, and it's a distraction.

So, this is one of those Nightwish deals?

You mean, like a cheap high school soap-opera ?
