A former Moon Area High School gym teacher and volleyball coach was arrested and charged with sending nude photos of herself and suggestive text messages to a 14-year-old male student, Moon police said. Beth Ann Chester, 26, of Scott was arrested Friday and charged with nine criminal counts, including three counts of child sexual abuse, two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count each of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal solicitation, according to Moon police and court records. Police said they plan to file an additional charge of statutory sexual assault against Chester.

The boy told police he thought he was in love with Chester and the only physical contact involved a hug just before holiday break, according to the police affidavit filed to support the criminal charges.
Jack Cambest, Moon's solicitor, said the matter is being handled by police and that the district will notify the state Department of Education this week, which is required by state law.

I love how the cops have nothing better to do than go after these "Dream Makers".

In the words of standup comedian Greg Giraldo. "For a 15yr old boy, any sex that doesn't end in you limping out of a church rectory is perfectly exceptable."

What if it had been a male gym teacher and an underage female student? Would it be okay, then?

Yeah yeah yeah, I know where your going with this. I consider myself a realist though. In reality in "most cases" especially if the teacher is in her younger 20's, im going out on a limb here and guessing she's not grotesque. In most cases the boys don't mind, if I lost my virginity at that age with a cute/hot young teacher I wouldn't have minded.

With girls it's always the factor people have of it being considered "actual" taking advantage of. Kind of like how most rape cases are men raping woman and not the other way around. Seriously, the few rape cases were a man was raped by a woman had me laughing in tears. They were grown men mind you.

I don't know, basically my point is the boy is in the 14-16 range. I know how I was during my teens, but hey! some people are just late bloomers.

So you endorse a double standard for underage sex abuse cases. Got it.

Reread what I added to previous post at the end. My original post was meant as a joke anyways which flew waay over your head even though it was obvious since I was quoting a standup comedian lol.

Yeah, if the boy screamed bloody murder/rape, yeah that would be horrible. I'll say again though, most boys in their teens know what they want from woman, so I don't see many boys in that kids situation screaming rape.

Underage kids don't have the same legal rights as an adult to decide whether to press charges or not. It's not just ethics or whether they're okay with it, in the eyes of the law, fiddling with the kiddies is a crime. Period. Gender has nothing to do with it.

And it's debatable as to whether Greg Giraldo is actually a standup comedian or not. :p

    RESIST! :cmad:

also, Figman, your double standard is lame-O.
Believe it or not, teenage girls get horny too!
Some of them even ONLY get horny for older guys!
    Wow, amazing.
And it doesn't matter if NO one's "screaming bloody rape".
You will see the girl weeping, "No, NooOOoOooOoo!!" as they're dragging her older lover away, in some cases.

Giraldo is hilarious. I do agree the law always comes first but obviously you just need to lighten up a little when it comes to joking around.

Yeah, not really. You used a quote from a "comedian" to back up your viewpoint on the subject, which is what I disagree with fundamentally. I love these threads where every teenage boy who can type with his penis shows up and decrees how awesome it would be to get sexed up by their hot high school teacher but then invariably has an issue with the same concept if it's a male teacher with an underage female student. :down

Wrong. For the third time...I was simply joking which is why I 'chose' to quote a comedian. I love it when people think they can read others minds and know for fact what someone is meaning or thier full viewpoints.:whatever:

As I said in my last post I do agree with you that the law comes first and that the boy is underage so the teacher will have to pay the price. Once again, due to the fact that I quoted a comedian it should have been common sense to realize I wasn't fully serious to being with.

It's not my fault if your like the majority of 'sensitive' people around here. I'm guessing something similar happened to you or someone you know to have jumped on me for joking around about that kind of topic.

It's not my fault you're not funny, even when you steal other people's material.

So sue me for trying to be... most of my friends say I could use a sense of humour because I take life too seriously. I guess I'll go back to my bitter ways as always for getting shut down for the millionth time in life lol.

It's not really stealing someone's material when you actually mention that your quoting said person.

    For the record, it's this:

...that gave me the impression you were all in favor of the double standard, not your quote from Giraldo, which I just viewed as you trying to be funny while still supporting your original point. Statutory rape by teachers, people who we are entrusting with our kids' well being, safety and education, just isn't funny to me. Ever. I usually have no issues with you at all, but that's why I took exception to what you were writing.

What's so stupid with this though, is if this same kid took a sawed off shotgun and blew the teacher's head off after said act, he would have been tried as an adult. The law makes a case-by-case judgement on who is an adult in criminal cases, but not in consent cases. :whatever:
