Ex-Moon teacher charged in sending photos, texts to teen

A former Moon Area High School gym teacher and volleyball coach was arrested and charged with sending nude photos of herself and suggestive text messages to a 14-year-old male student, Moon police said. Beth Ann Chester, 26, of Scott was arrested Friday and charged with nine criminal counts, including three counts of child sexual abuse, two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count each of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal solicitation, according to Moon police and court records. Police said they plan to file an additional charge of statutory sexual assault against Chester.

The boy told police he thought he was in love with Chester and the only physical contact involved a hug just before holiday break, according to the police affidavit filed to support the criminal charges.
Jack Cambest, Moon's solicitor, said the matter is being handled by police and that the district will notify the state Department of Education this week, which is required by state law.

Niiiiice

What's so stupid with this though, is if this same kid took a sawed off shotgun and blew the teacher's head off after said act, he would have been tried as an adult. The law makes a case-by-case judgement on who is an adult in criminal cases, but not in consent cases. :whatever:

True. If you're old enough to kill your teachers, you're old enough to **** them.

She isn't good looking at all lol!

She ain't that bad. It's her mug shot. She looks better than most celebrity mug shots.

Meh I have been spoiled by too many good woman to think that is nice.

So if your son was abused in some way by a gym teacher you would give him a medal?

The thing people are forgetting is he is 14! You are acting like he is 4,5,6,7,8 or 9 years old. Since he is 14 he is either a Freshman in High School or an 8th grader at the very least. I guess some of you were extremely late bloomers who weren't wanting some action until your college years...:oldrazz:.

That must suck having to go through puberty in late High School on up.

A fourteen year old is still a child. Period.

How old are you?

What does that matter in this situation? I'm guessing because of what this is, a difference in opinion on a certain part of this matter(not the whole) I'm going to get ripped on as usual by the "elite" posters.:whatever:

I find it funny that after me and Jag went back and forth originally, a number of other posters came about with the same viewpoint I had, yet were totally ignored.

True! A 14 year old is also old enough to make a decision on something like that though. There not going to act like a young child, someone in the range of I don't know, 2-10 who gets molested and doesn't even know what went down.

Yes you can get very adult 14 year olds but bloody hell you really can't expect us to accept that a 14 year old should be treated like a 21 year old adult?

Well, wait a minute, here. Yesterday you claimed you were "just joking" and that your real stance on the issue was that "I do agree with you that the law comes first and that the boy is underage so the teacher will have to pay the price." (Your words, not mine). Today you're reneging on that?

Fourteen year olds are not old enough to make a decision on something like that. They are still children, meaning they aren't old enough to make life-changing decisions like that. You can't agree with me and say "True!" when I say that fourteen year olds are children and then suggest that they are old enough to make these kinds of decisions. The very fact that they are still considered children means that they cannot.

FigmanJ as for you comment about late blooming...I bloomed at 14 and was always the tallest person in the class. So I had a year or two on some people in terms of physical development. Big whoop.

14 year old girl gets boobs early does not mean they are going to run off and make big grown up choices about who they can fruck.

Just because you've got the equipment doesn't mean you know how to use it wisely. ;)

Indeed, don't give your Wii remote to just anyone and if you do make sure the strap is on.

Word.

26 to 14....

probably more wrong with the lady than with the 14 yr old but then again, she does look like a human **** vomit...

for the record Fig, I salute the double standard. It's not fair but it's a better take on reality.

the sicker parties tend to be the elder ones and when you're in that position and you're the one doing the poking, then it's worse news.

there are kids and there are kids, I know some teenagers with more life experience and adult behaviour than some of my friends in their late twenties.

I know the law is there but it needs to be viewed objectively on a case by case basis and yeah there are times when a female minor can actually be the one in control of the mental manipulation (while its always associated to be the male one in that case).

all in all, it's not the first teacher scandal thread and it won't be the last so...

I still haven't changed my stance, the teacher will have to pay the price. If you look back in history a lot of the world used to have people getting married around that age group. It's just laws change since different people/countries have different opinions and the legal "adult" age here just happened to be chosen at 18.

As for the fourteen year olds are not old enough to make a decision like that? I can't speak for you or anyone else but I remember what I was like in my teens and frankly I guess since I take after my Dad a lot I grew up with a more serious and mature outlook on life.

In short, just from my viewpoint and how I grew up, I just can't see kids in thier mid teens being thought of, as well as acting like adolescents. I think your giving them less credit than they deserve. Not sure how old you are and how long it's been since you were in middle/high school but I guess times/people have changed.

That's why the adult is always held responsible in these instances and not the kid. They ARE supposed to be old enough to know better, regardless of whether they were manipulated into it by a Lolita or not.

Well you can look in my profile. I am 23...

Almost a whole decade from 14 and let me tell you 10 years is a long time to change.

I don't care how much you think you know and how much you think you have learned when you are 14 but wait 10 years kid and then see what you think about life. Give yourself some time to think more.

I thought I grew up hard not having a dad but 10 years go by and your mind changes. What you know at 14 mean almost nothing years later.

Uh, if you look back in history a lot of people owned slaves, and raped the women in the cities they conquered, and sacrificed babies to Moloch and thought night time was when a giant dragon ate the sun...so...

I don't get why you mentioned the 21 year old adult thing. I understand it is in Fact statutory(sp?) rape and the teacher should be punished. It's just when I see so many people in certain threads about sex.

I see them say without batting an eye "It's natural", or "It's a part of life" and give **** to someone who is religious(won't mention names, but we all know who the few I'm referring to) saying there a prude or mental for taking sex that seriously, yet in this thread bring up the age of 21 and act like it's more serious than they took it in those other threads where it was just...sex:whatever: .

You're ashamed of your age?
Answer the question.
It matters a lot.

I'm 26, so laugh it up..."LOL, this guy's close to 30 and he...blah blah blah":whatever:

People also used to have a life expectancy of 30 years old. Getting married at 25 wasn't an option if they had any hope of having a family. Now people live well into their 90's and beyond on a regular basis.

As for the fourteen year olds are not old enough to make a decision like that? I can't speak for you or anyone else but I remember what I was like in my teens and frankly I guess since I take after my Dad a lot I grew up with a more serious and mature outlook on life.

More often than not, fourteen year olds do not have the life experience and maturity to make decisions of this nature. They're just getting exposed to all those hormones and figuring out how to handle them in general, which can lead to some bad decision making, no matter how "mature" they might be. It's been said over and over in this thread that a fourteen year old boy will pretty much f**k anything that moves, given the opportunity. Therein lies a major part of the problem, really. Particularly where an adult is concerned. Especially an adult that is entrusted with that child's safety and education and could even be in a position of power over that child where their grades or academic future are concerned.

In short, just from my viewpoint and how I grew up, I just can't see kids in thier mid teens being thought of, as well as acting like adolescents. I think your giving them less credit than they deserve. Not sure how old you are and how long it's been since you were in middle/high school but I guess times/people have changed.

I have 14 and 15 year old nieces and nephews. They are not old enough or mature enough to decide whether they should have sex or not. No kid that age really is, to be honest. Sorry. It's bad enough if they do it with a kid their own age, and I'm fully aware that goes on to a very large degree (hey, I was 14 once, too). But when adults are involved in it, that's an entirely different problem altogether.

Jesus, this is only like an hour away from me.

this is all fine and dandy but my points were really aimed at the sexual inequalities rather than the (lawfully) responsible party.

Don't you hate it when people reference the ignorant human past to make a point.

The points Wilhelm brought up about people in the past were in fact ignorant views. The whole "at what age is someone considered mature" is actually not ignorant but a difference of opinion to different people.

Don't make the mistake like so many others, that just because we have better technology in this day and age that it makes us that much more intelligent than "all" people of the past.

At what age is someone mature enough to have sex or get married is a matter of opinion. Since it is the law in my/our country that you aren't a legal adult until your 18 so be it. I follow most laws and will agree with that one but don't agree with how most people think kids in high school are that "slow" or can't tell when something wrong is being done to them.

I'm 26, so laugh it up..."LOL, this guy's close to 30 and he...blah blah blah":whatever:
Don't be paranoid. I wanted to know how old you are.
Frankly you sound like you're teenager...of the "adults just don't understand. :cmad:, Kids are people too! :cmad:" variety.

I'm 36 and I consider most people in their TWENTIES to be stupid youngsters. A 14 year old is a f***ing child.

And you seemed to lack any understanding of what Statutory Rape is...continually acting as if the fact that the boy is totally consenting has anything to do with it.

Teenage GIRLS get horny too. Some of them are mainly into way older guys.
So would you give your daughter a medal if her professor had sex with her?
