Nothing accidental about it. I complimented his acting. But I don't find him funny.

I think my basic issue is that I don't laugh at stupidity. I cringe at stupidity. And then I become angry at it, and want to do grievous injury to it.

Now, in Ferrell's case I realize it is just an act. But it is so flawless and convincing an act that it elicits the natural response in me, which is cringing, anger, and finally violent rage.

My wife calls it dumb guy humor. She equates it to why a guy will laugh at a good fart

lol... well I'll occasionally laugh at a good fart, but Will Ferrell has never gotten that reaction out of me.

So I guess I think flatulence is funnier than Will Ferrell.

It is a compliment; but if it wasn't true then "Stranger Than Fiction" wouldn't be a great movie. Ferrell is a perfectly capable actor. He just doesn't know from funny.
