I know. So I guess his neck is skin-toned, and that's that. At least Ledger has naturally quite-pale skin. The people that were there say otherwise however.

I was just over there myself, and I'll tell ya I'm crackin upConsidering that Jett says one thing and then another a day later depending on which way the wind blows, I'm starting to seriously doubt whether he actually knows anything.
I've got all the sides if you want them.
At any rate, I'd agree with you if it wasn't for the IMAX photo. The IMAX photo shows what seems to be that exact scene - but the Joker has his full, extra-wide smile. And the zip-line incident, if it were to occur, would likely not be until after this scene. So we're left with an image of the Joker, in full Joker-mode, revealing himself to the Bank Manager in this scene. Confusing, isn't it? I find the zip-line thing to be less and less likely - especially since, IIRC, when Mir and Jow reported it they had both been told that it was not a sure thing. I'm getting a strong feeling that it's a jettisoned idea.
No it wouldn't. They didn't change the concept after doing the IBIHD pic.
The only reason the smile doesn't seem as gruesome is that it's being viewed from a distance. The IBIHDT pic is zoomed in on the scarring, and has Ledger's face at an angle so that the scarring seems even bigger than it is.
Could be, but I don't see any reason to believe that, either. Sounds more like wishful thinking.I'm about 90% certain at this point that what people are seeing is the "blotchy" aspect of his skin; i.e. it's not entirely white, there is pigment left in places, which would be designed to make him look less like a guy in white face paint (Cesar, n'est pas?) and more like a dude who has been seriously disfigured by some nasty chemical or other.
But I've been wrong before...
Ummm, yes it would. A couple of eye witness reports that I've read said that the smile isn't as gruesome, or as wide, as the IBIHD pic.No it wouldn't. They didn't change the concept after doing the IBIHD pic.

It's all an optical illusion. The IBIHDT pic was at an angle, so the smile seems wider and bigger than it actually is. That's all.Ummm, yes it would. A couple of eye witness reports that I've read said that the smile isn't as gruesome, or as wide, as the IBIHD pic.
Plus, it doesn't look like it to me. I know the pics are from a distance, but the mouth doesn't look as wide.
Hmmm...very confusing. And if it's the opening scene it really starts the film off with a bang (so to speak). However I also know there was spec that the scene with Scarecrow in the parking garage could be the opener...
and now I've gone cross-eyed.
I'm hoping Wizard World will at least lay out a bare bones plot or timeline for us. Probably too much to ask, but at least then we'd know where these pictures slot in to the storyline.

Ya'll can just look at the point where the "Red" ends on his face, to see how wide it is. From ALL the pics, it seems to be just outside the vertical line of where the eyes end. It's all an optical illusion. The IBIHDT pic was at an angle, so the smile seems wider and bigger than it actually is. That's all.
Right..........It's all an optical illusion. The IBIHDT pic was at an angle, so the smile seems wider and bigger than it actually is. That's all.
Because from the pics, and reports...the white clearly ends at the face. If Joker were to bother to "even" out the blotches on his face, why not his neck?Well, I mean we've heard before that his skin is blotchy. So why wouldn't that be the reason for the flesh-color on his neck?
maybe he takes the coat from the guy pointing a gun at himWell, if it's any concilation, look what he's wearing in that opening bank scene - very heavy clothing, and a shirt that's buttoned up to the very top (evident in the IMAX pic with the clown masks.) The clothing looks TOO heavy, like he may be wearing something underneath them that's entirely different.
I'm convinced that Joker, whatever his motive, goes into the bank robbery fully intent on revealing himself in all his glory. Not only does the "regular" makeup come off, but I think those drab clothes do, too, to reveal more Joker-ish attire (like the purple suit seen in these new spy pics.) Something happens inside the bank for him to go from fairly normal-looking to full-on Joker, but what it is, I can't tell.
And yes, at least according to some of the reports, there were rumors that the producers would abandon the zipline/scarring scene because they weren't sure if it would "work" or not, whatever that means. If the IMAX photo is any clue, it seems he's already scarred at his reveal (you can see the red smile reaching back across his cheek, even through the glass.)
I'm hoping for a bank robbery scene that rivals HEAT. But I am not holding my breath.

Either way, flesh toned on the neck is a big no-no.![]()
That clearly doesn't happen. We saw the filming of the Joker's escape from the bank... he's put the mask back on and is wearing the same "disguise" wardrobe he had on earlier.I'm convinced that Joker, whatever his motive, goes into the bank robbery fully intent on revealing himself in all his glory. Precisely. And I see now reason to believe the make-up hasn't changed... it just appears less gruesome.Drexx said:The lipstick itself may not be as gruesome, but I highly doubt the length of the scarred smile has changed at all.
With Ledger's skin being as pale as it is... I dunno.Drexx said:Either way, flesh toned on the neck is a big no-no.
I can live with it too, it just doesn't seem to be as pronounced.Yeah. I hate to disappoint, donk, but just because the zipline incident may be out, doesn't mean the facial scarring is gone. It would just mean it's unexplained - which I can totally live with.
All the pictures show white on his neck.![]()
Yeah, that's true. All the pictures show white on his neck.![]()
Well then you're seeing what you want to see. Add to the fact that people who were actually there have already said there was no make-up on his neck...and evidence is on my side. All the pictures show white on his neck.![]()
er...you can clearly see the white ends at the jaw line in this picAll the pictures show white on his neck.![]()
Nothing clear about it to me. Just looks like shadow, as far as I'm concerned. The same color tone is produced on the shadows on his forehead.er...you can clearly see the white ends at the jaw line in this pic![]()
