In all honesty, it is REALLY hard to tell from the photo's we've seen - looking at it one way, it seems to be a different color, but at the same time, it could be quality, or it could be a shadow, or even a different shade of white. There's no way to know for sure.

To complicate matters even futher, eye-witness accounts aren't all that reliable. While NoirMan has been great (and correct me if I'm wrong, he's confirmed that the neck is white or whitish?), remember reports from other people who said, for example, "The hair isn't totally green, but dark brown with streaks of green and blond," or something similar. That account has been refuted recently by NoirMan and others. Even Jett, who I try to avoid bringing up around here, has said a million different things that don't gel together - his description of the Joker's costuming doesn't match the pics here, either.

er...you can clearly see the white ends at the jaw line in this pic

No, you can't. Go stand under a streetlight and have your picture taken and tell me the area under you jaw isn't in shadow.

Add to that the fact that the shadow on the side of his head (and the weird spot on the tip of his nose) matches the neck color... I think it's obvious that this photo doesn't prove a lot about the coloration of anything.

Keyser is right - the color on the side of his face matches the one on his neck. Either it's makeup/blood (perhaps he got in a scuffle?) or it's a shadow.

I saw the Joker in the S-Laughter semi. The make up definitely did NOT cover his neck. Of course, that might just mean that they're not shooting close ups and don't care too much. On the other hand, how much time does it take to apply white make-up to the neck?
