I want some opinions before I shell out money for another version of a movie I already own.:unishr:

Depends. I think it's a better version of the film and would be my preferred version to watch. If you are like me and think you will go back and pull it out to watch every now and then, then sure...It's worth it. On the otherhand, if you think you will never go back to it...then just rent it to check out a different version. In otherwords, if it will just collect dust forever after the first viewing, I wouldn't buy it. The special features on it are very limited and it won't replace your original disk in that regard, but as far as the movie goes, I feel it is superior. It really depends on what kind of DVD watcher you are.

That pushes me toward "Purchase"; I've trusted your opinion for 3 years.

It's worth it if you liked the original or you're a Punisher fan. I liked it. It's not like the special editions that just give you an extra behind the scenes or additional commentary but it's the same exact movie for $24 bucks. You actually have an extended version (20 minutes) of the film with a new animated intro for $12 or $15 bucks.:ninja:

Id say go get it...all i gotta say is the last scene between Frank and Jimmy Weeks is killer!!!!

it's better than the theatrical cut - so if you liked that one, go ahead and pick this one up.

Picked it up today, I would say its worth it. The Animated segment was actually better than i expected it to be, and the extra footage gives the film more understanding and makes it a whole better experience in my case atleast.

The extended cut is way better than the theatrical cut.

Ok-I've made up my mind. I'm picking it up as soon as I can free up some cash.

The cut out scenes did add in nicely. I like the movie even more. And as cool as the fight with the Russian was I'd be lying if I wasn't secretly hoping for it to be even longer. Oh well.

Is this available in the UK ?

Not yet, but if you have a multiregion dvd player you can buy the region one version.

At other places that I've seen the polls... well more like what people are saying about both movies... is very different than from here.

I got it yesterday and watched almost immediately. I think it didn't really make the movie better. It's just a nice alternate take on it. The best added stuff were extra violence/action. I didn't quite like the style of the animation at the beginning. It could have been handled so much better. For example they could have done it the Sin City style as they were already shooting against green screen. I don't think it would have cost that much. But Lionsgate probably didn't wan't to put lot of money to this. (Again.) Also some of the added Saint material I thought were unnecessary.

when i first saw the movie i thought it was stupid, but then when i watched the directors cut, i thought it was better,

I F'n love the EC of the Punisher. But hey, I liked the original too.

The new subplot with Weeks is awesome, but I thought the animated opening sucked. I was hoping for maybe atleast one more scene with Nash/The Russian, but nada. The bonus material is pretty bad, just one short "making the animated opening" and thats all. But I didn't own the original on DVD, and I got this one for only $14 so it was worth it

I finally saw it just now actually. It was good, but I can't really get into the Punisher. It's a great movie and, he is cool and all, but I like Heroes more like Batman, Daredevil, and The X-men.

I like style and powers. I try but, I just can't really get into the Punisher.

I hate that they did the same thing with this as they did with the Daredevil Director's Cut, which is present the film and offer NONE of the bonus material from the original release!

I might buy it today, but is the only difference the animated intro, and the deleted scenes that were in the original dvd added to the movie?
