Fable III

I fully upgraded Bonesmasher. Took a bit of grinding around Mourningwood to find enough Hollow Men for it, but the gun was pretty awesome for a while. Then, of course, I opened a Silver Key chest and got the Ice Maiden, which already does like 10 points more damage without any upgrades. :o

Did the Demon Door give you anything good? The one you open by showing him your child sucked. Thanks, but I can get three time-stopping potions elsewhere.

I haven't gone back yet. I thought it needed one of the default weapons to be fully upgraded and I haven't gotten to the final upgrade chests yet. I'll try it tonight.

I'm not even king yet and I have about 11 million gold. :oldrazz:

Left your machine on all night like you planned?
I have over 10 million and just became king, without leaving the machine on all night. I spent the initial 400K in the treasury to lower taxes, then deposited from my personal bank the just-over 10 million I had, and I'm already back up to a couple hundred thousand in my personal bank. And that's with the Dweller Camp, Mercenary Camp, Driftwood, Mourning Wood, and Bowerstone Industrial houses all set at 0 rent income.

I know we don't earn money while the game is off in this one, but what's so hard about earning money?

Nobody said it was hard. It's pretty easy to raise money. He just mentioned in a prior post wanting to leave his machine on one night to do it quickly.

Nothing, I just didn't have any initially. I realize now that earning money is super-easy once you buy businesses. Hell, my pawn shops and pubs alone would probably support me okay at this point.

Yeah, the Bonesmasher sucks. I got Briar's Blaster from the Mourningwood silver chest, and it's a nice pistol, though designed in premise more for the heroine. Moot point, though. The Brightwall blacksmith was selling the Hero's Companion rifle starting out, and I'd have used Gusket's Musket from the Free Weapons DLC if he hadn't.

No, that demon door sucks, I think. Off the top of my head, the Mourningwood Demon Door gives a Legendary Weapon, but you need to have level 5 Melee or Ranged to get in. The Mistpeak Demon Door also provides a Legendary Weapon, but you need a co-op partner to get in there.

The chest in the Sanctuary Treasury also gives a Legendary Weapon. Gold Door in the Ossuary (Mourningwood sub-dungeon). Mourningwood silver chest. That's all I've found thus far, I think.

I got the "Screaming Pilgrim" rifle last night from the Ossuary's gold door. Ties my highest rifle damage (86 with level 4 Ranged) with its base, and though it has no boost to damage, it gets a rather large Shotgun Spray boost.

Quite a few people think it's hard to make money, based on how many people are out there in the intertubes who are raging that they couldn't get a good ending because they couldn't make enough money and it cost too much and nerdrage.

I wasn't meaning to indicate that one of you were crying about it. Apologies.

Corp, trade weapons with me. Or let me buy weapons from your world.

I think people just don't want to raise prices and have the NPCs hate them, which I didn't have a problem with. They go right back to loving you as soon as you lower the prices. :)

I got a couple of legendary weapons last night. I can't remember the names, but I'll trade if it's something you're missing.

Hey, do you guys have the gold key that's in the treasury room? I built up my gold pile to reach it and then it wasn't there. Is there a way to tell if you have the key or not?

There's no way to tell in inventory. If you get rid of all the gold in your personal treasury so you can see the chest that's there, you can try to open the chest.

I opened the chest and got a bunch of items. I hope that wasn't what the key was for, because I want to open the stupid hidden area of the Academy.

The key is only for the chest in the Sanctuary treasury. It doesn't even count as a key for the achievement, so it's not one of the four gold keys. It should have been a legendary weapon in that chest.

The hidden area of the Reliquary just gives you the Male and Female Highwayman outfits.

Don Corpulente is my Gamertag. Feel free to add me. I should be playing tonight, but then I gotta get back on the horse for some schoolwork for the foreseeable future.

Yup, there was a weapon (and some Guild tattoos). BTW, speaking of weapons, does anyone use the sword? It's so worthless in a fight. They start blocking it after one or two hits.

Curious, do you guys have a "keeper" spouse in the game? I married/divorced random people until I got to the castle. There were some cute lesbian housekeepers there. My kingdom is ruled by a lesbian couple now.

I used a sword for most of the game. Then I tried a hammer last night when I got the really good (and not particularly evil) one and have not even thought of going back to the sword.

I'm using a hammer right now for my guy, but the original princess I started (and deleted) used swords. For the most part, the sword finishers are way cooler.

And my guy is married to Elise.

The Champion (Amazon DLC Hammer) is pretty nice. The Hammer of Wilmageddon (in-game legendary) is amazing.

The Inquisitor (Gamestop DLC Sword) is pretty nasty, as is The Channeler (Best Buy DLC Sword), though The Channeler sucks in that you have to kill 100 enemies with the Blades spell to upgrade its attack power. The Inquisitor requires spending 3K of your personal money to upgrade its attack power. OH GOSH, so hard.

I did get the Swinging Sword last night from the Sanctuary chest. Sleep with 15 men, sleep with 15 women, and have an orgy with 4 people. I think I'll gift that to my princess when I restart her.

And I was wrong about the Mourningwood Demon Door. You get clothes. Yay, clothes. And a Summon Creatures potion. Oh boy.

The sword thing hasn't turned out to be a big deal. I use the gun more than anything.

I created an NPC named Toonces. She was okay for a while, but not particularly pretty.

The Military Suit, right? I really want that. I've only got the gloves right now, but they're pretty sweet gloves.

I've got my princess doing a total tomboy thing right now. Women's Merc top, Women's Highwayman pants, Women's Highlander boots, Military gloves, and I gave her the short, wavy hairstyle. Jasper's like, "That's a very... modern hairstyle..." He does not approve. :oldrazz:

My chick was wearing most of the Merc equipment for awhile, too.

The Military Suit is fugly, btw. I was expecting it to look rad, also.

My guy has worn the Elegant Prince upper body piece along with Male Warrior boots, legs, and gauntlets. Pretty rad. Now that he's king I've replaced it with the king pieces but the same top. And the crown, of course.

My male character was patterned after Thor: long blond hair, badass hammer, combination lightning and vortex spell. It was great, right up until I learned what happens when you don't raise any money for the finale.
