Fable III

What what? I think PM has a point in regards to his Twitter post.

His point being that most reviewers aren't "real" gamers because they don't relax and enjoy the game. Reviewers nit pick and normally have a "scheduled" time to beat the game so they can have a review up.

Often reviewers will fly through a game. They don't take the time to enjoy it.

Like... how many times have you guys said "I don't care about reviews, I'll make up my own mind." That's pretty much what he's telling you to do, ignore reviews and play it for yourself.

I would argue that most "real gamers" (:whatever:) zip through games as well.

You know, I know it wasn't directed at me... but the stupid roll eyes smiley grates on my nerves. It must have something to do with getting insanely ticked when people roll their eyes at things.

I HATE that. :p

@Pat, in Co Op you have to stay in the same area, it's basically the same system as Borderlands. Still, they're huge areas and you can split up within an area. My friend and I were going crazy. We had a business partnership, so he was working, while I was befriending everyone in the town, then buying stuff. It was pretty cool.

Whether reviewers are "real" gamers or not has nothing to do with how they objectively rate a game. If they do a poor job of that, that's one thing. If they do it subjectively instead of objectively, that's a whole other thing entirely.

In the case of reviewers, regardless of medium, I think you'd find they are "real" whatever-they-ares. They typically love whatever they're reviewing for. It's just that they have a job, a time schedule, and some matter of criteria they're looking for.

The PM twitter seems to me to be that of a guy who's ******** his game didn't receive a perfect score. And I don't even hate PM, either.

I dunno, it's PM...

However... how many times have you or anyone else ever said "Pffft, don't pay attention to reviews, this is epic" or whatever? I think that's kind of what he's saying. Is he probably a little annoyed that his game didn't get 10's? Yeah... again... it's PM.

Yea i played some co-op with a buddy earlier today. Pretty fun. So glad that you can import your own character and what not.

Oh for ****s sake. That's not even his real twitter. In fact I've even seen that one before, it's a parody of Molyneux.

Now that i'm aot further into the Road To Rule, it's awesome to compare weapons and character with friends. My weapons are so ridiculously different looking from my friends, his are all awesome and medieval looking while mine have just turned into bizarelly shaped supernatural looking piratey things. It's such a cool way of levelling up. Also, I'm taller and have willpower lines on my face, but my friends guy has gained weight and body mass.

I couldn't disagree more with some of those review scores.

Yea, im fairly early into the game but im having a lot of fun with it. My only complaints is its as tho they streamlined everything too much. I mean this 'dumb everything down so the casual can play it' line of thinking is really, really, really starting to irritate me. Im not really a fan of the one button combat.

I also feel that outside of the quests, there isnt much to see or do. I really havent had the desire to just explore the way i do with other RPG's like Fallout.

That's awesome. As soon as I had access to green dye, I tried to make a Link outfit, but I didn't (and still don't) have any other appropriate pieces.

"Epic" has nothing to do with whether a game is objectively a good game or not. Can it contribute? Certainly. But "awesomeness," "epicness," "I love it," are all subjective reasonings. Not objective.

A game can be epic and fall short of being a truly good game if it has problems in integral areas.

An 8.5, which I think Fable III got somewhere, isn't a bad score at all. It's still technically above average. A 3/5 stars is worse, given, and should probably more accurately be a 3.5/5 or 4/5 to match, but that depends on how buhtarded that reviewer was being.

"Can everyone please just ignore the reviews about my new game please. Reviewers are not real gamers, they don't play my games properly."

Peter Molyneux'son Fable 2.

"I'd rate it a 9 out of 10," Molyneux added, when asked if he'd fulfilled his original vision with Fable II.

"It's the best, most complete game I've ever worked on. The look is perfect, the interface is fantastic. It's a role-playing game, but where are all the f***ing icons? Aren't you supposed to be cluttering the screen up with mini-maps and the like? Not us.

Peter Molyneux on Fable 2, some time later.

So imagine my surprise, when I meet Molyneux for a Fable III demo during E3 last week, and the first thing he says to me is: "Fable II's story was rubbish." He wasn't done. Before the end of our half-hour together, Molyneux had used that same word to trash the maps, menus, visuals, weapons and co-op in his last game as well.

Yea, that's Peter Molyneux. Do you have a point? Everyone knows that's how he is. He's very "talkative".

Well, I finished the main story. King is pretty cool. Theres still a bunch of stuff you can do afterwards too, a few new quests opened up, and there are loads of collectibles, its ridiculous. Between the 50 silver keys, the gold keys, the gnomes, the demon doors, the rare books (and a few others that i wont mention), not to mention trying to raise a few million so I can build a mountain of gold to get the key, I can seriously see myself playing this game for a while.

Plus, you don't even need a New Game plus 1, you can just join other heroes games with perfect ease and it's loads more fun with 2 people anyway. This game has redeemed Fable 2 in everyway for me.

Also, it's funny about the Link thing, because my friend and I did that too, totally independently without seeing that video lol. We spent ages trying to find the perfect skirt. the only lame thing was that the pajama hat completely covered your hair. Oh well.

I'll probably be picking this up today. "Making up for Fable 2 in every way" also helped sell me on it.

Wow. Being a good king is NOT easy. You really cant have your cake and eat it too.

Haven't gotten there yet. Are the decisions legit? I was a little worried when in the early stages of the game it seemed to have the standard "saving puppies=you're good" and "***** slapping peasants=you're bad" choices.
