Caught this in the May/June issue of "Hollywood Life" -- These aren't really articles but rather 5 facts about up and coming Hollywood stars. Both Routh and Bosworth are featured. I thought some of these were very interesting ... esp. that first one for Brandon. Here are the pieces, each re-typed for your reading pleasure :-) Enjoy!

Kate Bosworth, 23
- She was a champion equestrian when she was 13, which helped her win a part in her first fim, the Horse Whisperer
- She took surfing lessons every day for three weeks to land the starring role in Blue Crush
- She has a condition known as heterochormia iridium, which means her eyes are two different colors - one eye is hazel and the other is blue
- This honor roll student who was raised in Connecticut was accepted to Princeton Univ., but she deferred admission to move to LA so she could act full time
- She is big on animals: At one time she owned a Thoroughbred horse named Waldo and she rescued a part-greyhound/part-beagle puppy she named Lila when she was visiting boyfriend Orlando Bloom in Morocco

Brandon Routh, 26
- He had Superman on his mind long before he was cast as the superhero in this summer's sure-to-be blockbuster: Brandon tried out for the part of Superman on The WB's Smallville, which went to Tom Welling
- One of his first gigs was on MTV's racy nighttime soap opera Undressed in 2000
- He was on the daytime soap opera One Life to Live for about a year, from 2000 to 2001
- His friends call him BJ
- His brother is a cop in Iowa

He tried out for Clark alongside TW that is interesting:up:I never knew that.

I always thought that was a fun fact about Routh and Welling. Routh mentioned it in an article a few months back.

It does make one wonder why he did NOT get the Smallville role, and Welling did.

Deffinately wasn't looks, or even that he was too young. And sure as hell wasn't acting. Welling was deffinately not picked for his acting looking at the first season.

Perhaps they thought he looked TOOmuch like an older superman???

Brandon could never pass for a grade nine for SV season 1.

Well Welling couldnt either for that matter...

this is one of the biggest reasons :).

SV didnt want to have a clark that looks like reeve. so routh was out just beccause of hes look.

They probably want a pretty boy to play Supes. And the fact SV is like a teeny booper show (it like Superman in Dawson's Creek :D) & those kind of shows always have pretty boy type actor. ;)

bosworth got into PRINCETON? wow

Welling was chosen because he was the better choice. Simple as that.

ROTFLMAO! You Superman fanboys are delusional. From what I've seen of Routh, the kid has the charisma of a toaster. I've actually seen him try to act, and he's even worse than Welling was in season one of Smallville. All Welling has done is improve by leaps and bounds over the last 5 seasons.

As for Routh looking too old, don't make me laugh. Routh looks far too young now, even in the new trailer. He makes a weak looking Superman as well. I've never liked him as Superman from day one.

Have you ever wondered why they're continually hiding Routh's performance. Think about it. In the full trailer, the main character has 2-3 very short lines, and even those were delivered with authority or command. Face it, this movie will sink or ride on his performance. I'm willing to bet he stinks to high heaven.

Friend call him BJ...No wonder....nevermind...its to easy.

Here's a fact about Bosworth:

She was in a movie called Blue Crush. Afterwards everyone wished she would go away....we were all dissapointed :(

Welling is a better director than an actor any day.

Ummm, it's a friggin trailer. No one really has many lines, ya know.

ROTFLMAO! You Superman fanboys are delusional.

And you haters are desperate...so desperate that you'll try any old unsubstantiated argument to start a fight. Too bad you lost this one before it even got going.

Good one solid:up: Where do you guys come up with these stuff?

How you know he was a better choice? Have you even seen both of their audition tape? I think they pick Welling, 'cause they want a pretty boy like I said.

And you my friend, is very extremely delusional compare to many of us. Talk about irony. And Routh has charisma of a toaster? You barely seen much of Routh's act in SR to judge his charisma. Welling improve, because it took him few years. Duh! I'm sure Routh has improve his talent as well, 'cause that why he is Superman in SR, not Welling.

As for Routh looking too old, don't make me laugh. Routh looks far too young now, even in the new trailer. He makes a weak looking Superman as well. I've never liked him as Superman from day one.

Just because some said Routh look older, don't mean you think they're wrong & you're right. It their opinions. Just like your on disagreeing with that. He a weak looking Superman as well? So on that "as well" part, you're saying your boy Welling is a weak looking Superman? We got a winner here, folks!! And of course you never like Routh as Superman. It's because Welling is not in the costume, so your excuse is you never like Routh as Supes when you haven't even seen the movie to form a opinion yet but you sure act like you seen the movie.

Hiding Routh's performance? We didn't see much of Spacey, Bosworth, Hunnington, Langella, etc. performance either. Are you implying they are bad too? Good thing you finally confess that Routh delievered some of his lines with authority or command. And this movie will sink? Have you seen the movie to come up with that? Or are you're just angry Welling not in it, that you're so hellbent on SR failing no matter what. What are you going to do if SR is a success & many praise Routh? Don't give me the old "It won't be good" crap, 'cause I figure you will pull off that. :p
