Fallout 4

I think it's time to play FO3 again... I'd pop in New Vegas but something about that game just doesn't click with me. Not sure if it's the setting that's just not "Apocalyptic" enough or the horrible, horrible Radio stations (lol) or the fact that it just "ends."

-The fact that it just ends.Lotsa ppl were angry about that.

-if you compare it to FO3, it's kinda boring. There's not much places were enemies respawn for example.

-It also lose that 50's pulp fiction feel that made FO 3 atmosphere great.

That said. I do enjoy F.NV . mainly because the GREAT characters in the game. Especially your companions.

Oh I agree... It does just as much right as it does wrong... But when I go back to the world of Fallout... It's always 3.

The Lonely Road was pretty sweet DLC though.

Yea i never could get into New Vegas. Altho by the time i played it i was so completely burned out on the apocalyptic setting that i dont think it would of mattered what the game did. It very well may of been better than 3, but i just couldnt stand it long enough to figure that out.

I dig em both.

There's aspects of both that I really like, aspects that one has that I wish the other did too.

Loved the western feel that NV had. Loved the different types of ammo. Nothing like tearing a pack of Deathclaws apart with 50 Cal Explosive rounds. Loved the customization. Loved the perks.

Didn't like that you only get perks every other level. :(

for me, it's the characters from NV that keeps me going back to the game...

Characters like Yes-man

Or who could ever forget Fisto, the sexbot

- I am programmed for your pleasure!...assume the position!

- Don't worry! the numbness will subside in a few minutes!

:woot:

so guys Do you want the main character to be born in a Vault and only came out at the Start of the game, like 1, 3, or Born in the outside world, like 2 and NV

Why not have both options? Depending on what you choose as your origins, it shapes how the early game is for you as well as later interactions with other characters throughout the story

Outside. Once was enough I think for the Vault thing.

I think it would be interesting if you played as someone from before the war. Like they were kept alive with some form of suspended animation which would be interrupted at the start of the game. Or maybe the beginning of the game actually takes place before the war, then you go into suspended animation and wake up 200 years later.

How about you wake up in a prison. :o

HA! I've only played Oblivion and Skyrim for that intro, but that's enough. It's a great, fun and convenient way to begin a game but hopefully Bethesda move on from that now.

I like Soapy's idea, waking up in an unfamiliar world from a time long since gone would be very cool. It's also similar enough to the prison intro that Bethesda could do their usual business without panicking too much. I do hope it's not born and raised in a vault, once was enough for me.

I like this a lot...Maybe even let us play a little bit of the war? Then, because we're so important our character is chosen to be put into cyrosleep...Or something. Maybe we're a Five Star General or something... Then when our character wakes up we come to realize that what we "were" no longer matters.

I've always wanted there to be more of a Dragon Age Origins sorta thing. You pick what you wanna be and that's how you start the game. Eventually the story comes together but what you chose to do or be in the opening pretty much dictates how you're treated throughout the game.

Like a disgraced Brotherhood Initiate. Or a Ghoul living in an underground Ghoul community. Or an android. Or a Supermutant you know, something.

That would be very cool as well, but not to put too fine a point, I don't think Bethesda would or could write a story like that. They're not nearly as story-oriented as Bioware. They're more about making a big world with a bunch of systems, and then turning you loose in it.

I'd love to play as an Ex-Raider.

With new Vegas I used to make up different back stories for my character. I mean, it helped me established the type of personality I wanted to go with.

Finally my pc is running Fallout 1

Any good tips

any good mods and Explaining how to use them this is my first pc game

any ways to cheat (evil laugh)

Does New Vegas have a definite end?

Yeah. Unlike Fallout 3 though, there's no DLC you can get to carry on afterwards. Reason being is, all the multiple endings. The narrative at the end sums up so many individual parts based off the player's decisions throughout the game I guess it would have been really difficult to program that all into the playable game.

Personally I'm not a big fan of open-world games having endings, at least not the kind where you can't keep on playing after the credits roll.

Hmm. In that case I'll wait for the next Steam sale.

I just came back from No Mutants Allowed they need to change the name to no Fallout 3 fans Allowed

Does New Vegas have a definite end?

Yeah, like James said. But i have to say, they got more satisfying ending than ME though. Even with only slideshows, they managed to covered what happened with the different factions in the game, and more importantly, with all the people that meant something to your character. They literally showed what happened to your companions for the rest of their lives...

And the last DLC, lonesome road, is tied to your character. So storywise, it kinda tied up all loose ends from the game. I'd say they've done waay better job with closure than what Bioware did with ME.

NMA is scum

That sums it up nicely. It's a forum for disgruntled FO 1/2 fans.

I remember when i was still posting regularly on Bethforums, anytime there was some good news about FO3,be it a new DLC or heck..even new fans...those morons from NMA would showed up and trolled the threads. It was constant battle with those guys.

The story in New Vegas is way better and much more Fallout-y than Fallout 3. Don't let the fact that the game eventually ends deter you from it, its a lot of fun.

I still like Fallout 3, but I really wish Obsidian was taking over the series.
