Fallout 4

Shaddup! :argh:

When you spend more time underground than you do above because you got lost navigating through tunnels to avoid rubble you could easily climb over, you'd go crazy too!

Haha! All's I'm saying is, I never had an issue with it :oldrazz:

I like to explore without looking at the map. I've gotten lost for a long time but I had fun as long as my nigh-immortal dog was with me. It's kind of funny to watch a average size dog tear through a dozen ghouls and a bunch of super mutants while you just hang back and watch then he comes back without a scratch.

Speaking of which, Dogmeat is immortal in this game too!

Honestly I like NV better than 3. 3 follows a linear path for the storyline that you can sequence break by accident. NV lets you do whatever you want for four possible endings. 3 also has a lot of winding paths underground that make it a ***** to get anywhere.

Also, I love the DLC for NV a lot more than 3. I didn't like O:A a lot, PL was okay but the extra 'difficulty' damage they added just to be cheap was really a pain and I have no idea what they were thinking with MZ as I hated doing that. NV on the other hand has some great DLC and no matter what anyone says Dead Money has to be one of my favorite DLCs in any game ever, it was a challenge, it made you think/plan different and it paid off insanely well if you didn't mind scrounging. Infinite supplies forever!!! The intertwining story of all the NV DLC was great too.

All in all Fallout 3 is lots of fun, full of crazy stuff and just plain weird and I love it but New Vegas is superior in my opinion. I'd highly recommend playing both just to experience them.

Also, I've spent hundreds of hours wandering the DC wasteland but I never did find the ****ing plunger room and I refuse to look it up online to find where it is. :argh:

If they continue the improvements in FO4 like they did from 3 to NV it's going to be flat out amazing.

NV felt more like an actual living breathing world, FO3 felt like a post apacalyptic amusement park.

Speaking of DLC, I hope Bethesda doesn't gut the last third of the game for DLC again, Broken Steel pissed me off.

I also liked NV because it looked like the world continued on after the war. 3 just had people living in squalor and barely surviving. They said people had been living in DC since the bombs fell but considering the amount of supplies left from before the war, the amount of debris and the fact that it looked like no one lived there until very recently it's always been my head canon that it was only resettled by anyone that wasn't super mutant in the last 20-30 years at most. If people had lived there for two centuries, super mutants or not, there'd by a LOT more progress made.

NV shows that civilization has continued, people are still people and we continue to rebuild over the past two centuries. People are still *****ing about government, taxes, settling new areas and wars/raiders.

As long as I can continue playing AFTER the end.. Story can end but let me just roam forever if I want. I hated that I had to wait for Broken Steel to be able to do that in 3... I don't remember much of NV's dlc but I pretty sure it took place before the ending right? Or was Broken Road post ending? I honestly don't remember.

That's the beauty of games like this, there's no right or wrong way to play, everyone can play their own way. I don't recall using the map very often either, it only opened up as you explored so using it to navigate wasn't much use. As to Dogmeat, I always left him at home where he'd be safe -except for when he'd bug out and go to Vault 101.

All the DLCs were before the end and once you did the final fight it rolled the credits and you were done. You were told exactly when you couldn't wander about anymore and the end of the game happened so you had the option to say no and continue as you were.

3 was the same until they released Broken Steel.

Broken Steel was awesome.

Especially because you got Colonel Autumn's radical trench coat.

so they are doing away with sliders and going for a more "hands on" face morphing system?

I wonder if they will implement some kind of face code system, so you can either "save" your design as a template or use someone else's as a template to work off of.

Lonesome road was pre ending, but it was the end of the couriers story.

I found Lonesome Road was kind of meh. It was supposed to be connecting all the DLCs into it with a big twist but it fell flat to me.

I know.. But in a game like Fallout.. I do t want the ending to stop me and it may seem odd but I don't want to keep playing on a pre ending save. Broken Steel was great but I haaaaated that I had to wait in that to open up playing after the ending. I want post ending DLC for F4.

Would be nice if it was flexible enough to let you play through everything before or after the ending.

I dunno, I liked the way NV did it. You could do lots of different things but once you decided to back a group then you were locked in. The Reputation system was nice as well.

That's really the only thing I disliked about NV. I may be weird but I just hate going back to pre ending saves. Just let me beat it and continue on like other Bethesda games.

Mostly because if I beat the story and I'm allowed to keep playing I feel like the game is never over. Unless it's like inFamous 2nd Son.. Man what a dry boring game after the ending.

Well in NV they would have had to either get rid of almost all of the NCR, Legion or both depending on the ending. They'd also have to include a lot more voice work for the different people who would need to be updated to reflect who won, remove people from various places you normally go to and replace them with others.

All in all, a lot of work for not much left to do afterwards besides maybe some mop up operations for holdouts for whoever lost.

I think with New Vegas they wanted to include the option to play more post-ending, but just ran out of time

I don't like it either, I much prefer being able to continue on after the main quest is done.

Incidentally, New Vegas wasn't a Bethesda game.

Yeah I get why NV didn't really do it . It had a firm ending and choices had to be made.. But that's probably why I was one and done with it. I made my choice and stuck with it. Never felt the need to bother with finding out what the other sides would have done.

I like NV.. But like it was said above maybe the combination of not being Bethesda and running out of time made them have to wrap everything up completely.

I just hope FO4 is more like the previous Bethesda games in regards to ending over Obsidian.

There is one thing I do not understand about the Vaults

I understand the True purpose that they are social experiments and The government, and Vault-Tec, never really believed an actual nuclear war would occur;

what i do not understand is the nuclear war did occur and the bombs did Fell and the world as they known it to come to an end

Why the hell the Overseers that knows about the social experiments Decide to continue with it Seriously who did they think will benefit with from the datas:loco:

They had their orders and for a bunch of them they couldn't do much else or they didn't want to. Look at 101 and 112 (Dr Braun), they had ultimate power so why would they let anyone have a choice?

I doubt they chose the leaders they thought would be kind, generous and willing to explain that everyone is going to die if they didn't do certain things or that they were all ****ed because the vault only had enough power for the next 10 years and food for five.

Also, has everyone else seen this video showing all the new stuff? Looks so friggin awesome. I'm going to get the pip-boy version.
