Fallout 4

I just really hope they don't just try and do a HD remake of 3 and NV. They still have more than enough bugs in those two that they'd have needed all this time just to iron out those two games rather than do anything else. :p

Like I said before though, this would be the game to make me buy a PS4.

Well a remaster might be a good way to get those games without all the bugs finally I would think. Well, maybe anyway

I doubt it, they'd probably make a lot more just trying to bump up the graphics. Besides if the game isn't bugged in someway your copy is cursed and trying to steal your soul.

Man...now I'm kinda worried. Something about Fallout 4 coming out on last-gen systems as well worries me, a little bit. I can only imagine this winds up being a 2016 Summer or Holiday game, and having something I want to be truly current gen and achieve that kind of 'next-gen' promise still with one foot in last-gen...I don't know. I'd have to know more, for certain, but just a little worried with that idea, even though it's not confirmed.

I wonder what kind of Vault we'll start off in this time.

Since there's a mention of PS3 and 360, that seems unlikely though.

I think it might be another titled sequel to Fallout 3, personally.

Not making this up.

I'd like to see a sequel set somewhere we haven't been since the East is getting better with the water and Harold the tree god working to fix the environment and the West has civilization going east at a decent pace.

The middle of the country sounds good or north to the (former) Canadian Border.

Titled cross-gen sequel a la New Vegas.

Calling it now.

I could see that. Or it could be a HD remaster collection of 3 and New Vegas that will be re-released on the PS3 and 360, too. I know both games got GOTY editions will all the DLC and stuff, but it could be like a double-pack. I really just don't see them making the full-on Fallout 4 cross-gen. I would be very surprised at that. We'll see tomorrow, I guess.

I'm not convinced. I mean, F4 is coming, I think it's more or less a sure thing, but as far as this? I don't know, it seems really counterproductive to reveal that so close to E3 whenever you're doing your first press conference and want to, I presume, have as much new and desired content as you can to show. Unless they just decided to throw up there hands and go "**** it, they already know about it, let's just unveil it early." That's mainly why I think this will be a remaster of either F3 or a collection of 3 and New Vegas.

Of course, you never know, I guess. It does seem like E3 isn't as...sacred (?) as it used to be with holding announcements back for than it once was.

Guys, it will probably be cross gen, or another studio will do the old gen port. It's not something new.

I do love wandering the wastes with my sniper rifle.

It's not, but we've pretty steadily moved away from crossgen outside titles that don't really make any difference to being crossgen or have a history of it (see sport games, Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, indies, etc.). It would be pretty odd for Fallout 4, a game that probably won't see release until 2017 to be made with crossgen.

Especially with a series that now has the rep of cramming as much content into a game and pushing the limits of the hardware. Even in a situation where another studio handled the port of last gen versions, I would think that would be a big problem in undertaking. Unless the situation was something like Ubi pulled with AssCreed last year and have a dual entry: one on current gen and the other on last gen.

We should know something in what? Another 10 hours? Get some sleep and maybe wonderful news will be there to awaken you.

I still remember the two years ago rumor where Bethesda supposedly showed Fallout 4 at E3 and behind closed doors. You know them, their games take a very long time to be developed, not something like Half Life 3 tho. It's very possible that Fallout 4 was being developed before they got their hands on the next gen consoles.

I doubt a remaster, unless if it's a separate game like AC Rogue, the old consoles will probably get a mediocre port.

I can feel it..

Cross gen in the sort of situation described is just a lose lose. Next gen console owners don't get a game that really utilizes the new console tech, and folks with old consoles get a bastardized version.

The only time cross gen is actually a good thing for everyone involved is if the game was originally designed for the old consoles, and then ported for the new consoles.

Seems to be the case.

Wouldn't this be designed with the new consoles in mind, since, it's been two years?
