What did you like about the movie? What made you enjoy it?

I really enjoyed X3. I am overwhelmed by all the negativity on these boards. I thought the movie was great and a fresh and exciting change to the X-Men franchise. Sure, there were some deaths and some of our favorites were cured -- but it's not the end of the world. That little hint at the end with Magneto gives me enough hope about the cure not being permanent. So that could save Rogue, Mystique, and Magneto.

Cyclops was always underused in the movies, even when Singer was doing them. Sure, he shouldnt have died -- and I would have loved to see him confront Jean in the final battle or bring her back to sanity, but I enjoyed what we got.

Sure the movie was not perfect, but neither were the first two. In some ways X3 reminds me of the newer Star Wars movies (especially ROTS) in comparison to the older movies. They are different - sure. But still very enjoyable. I've been waiting for a movie that would closely resemble the tv show and cartoons and i'm glad we finally got one.

I thought the movie was beautiful, the effects, locations -- everything.

i do not want to be a nay sayer but i will just say that yes cyclops should never have died and his scenes were far too short and since he was barely mourned that much by the other characters just show how they complety disregard an original x-man and so called leader of the x-men oh and there was also that small role he had in the phoenix saga..

anways, let us focus on the good and for me .. they were kitty and beast. kitty the most, she was fun and fearless and kicked ass on screen.. go kitty !!!

i didnt like angel's role in the film, after he refused to take the cure he didnt do anything and his fly in at the end to save his dad made me shake my head.. but either way i am a fan of his character mostly due to a great performance by ben foster.

also magneto using the cars as tin cans of soda was pretty cool to see

Psst, guys, this thread is for fans.

there is not one true Xmen fan who is 100 percent happy with this movie, or any of the xmen movies, it is simpley not a possible feat to accomplish, and if it where ever to happen where every xfan on earth would be completley happy with the movie the maker of that movie should be praised as lord of the nerds and never have to work a day in his life again

in saying that...

i enjoyed almost everything about this the little things kind of bugged me, but i honestly feel this is the most "Xmen" of all the movies to date

Iceman keeps getting bigger and bigger and i like how they use him like a minor league prospect in baseball, slowley bringin him along in the first two movies, and like X3 was his breakout rookie year, and if he can avoid the sophmore slump he is primed for and awesome X4 (here's to hoping)

Magneto-cool as ever...best scene in the movie when Pyro says "i would have killed the professor myself if you'd given me the chance" and Magneto shoots him down, because he has more respect for Xavier then even himself sometimes

in some cases the fast paced style works, in others it doesn't, but i don't have a terribley huge problem with it

yeah i loved it, can't say it's the best, but by no means is it the worst i had a good time watching it

I loved all of magneto's scenes! Ian just commanded the role! storm was a lot better in character. the movie didnt really drag anywhere where as some parts went by too fast! the action of x-men was really brought out unlike the first 2. but i love all 3 movies!

yeah i definately agree

ohh yeah how could i forget my stars and garters

beast ruled, possibley my favorite character kitty yes she was cool too(wished there was more, but whatev)

haha i liked it alot, not perfect by any means but completely enjoyable? yes

I saw it a second time today, and it grew on me a little.
Don't get me wrong, it was not a good movie, but I enjoyed every minute, and I felt I got my money's worth.

Can we keep the negativity out of this thread, please? 'Kay, thanks a lot. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Anyway, I am one of the few people who really enjoyed this movie, despite the nay-sayers bashing the movie. Yes, I thought it was short and it sucks, but get over it. Whining about it isn't gonna magically make it longer.

Both Ian McKellen and Famke Janssen truly owned in this movie.

Magneto; I loved the convoy scene. A lot. Loved the camera zooming-in on Mags' eyes as he raised his eye brow. I loved how he crushed the cars like they were nothing.

When Xavier was levitating in Jean's house, the look on Magneto's face was really saddening and knowing that he couldn't do anything to save his old friend added to that a lot.

Jean Grey (Phoenix); I especially loved, loved, loved her in the Jean's Neighbourhood scene. When she changed to Phoenix in the living room, it was very eerie and amazingly done. Even with very little amount of lines, she still owned the role. I also loved how everything went slow-motion as Phoenix raised her arms.

Despite the short runtime, the unnecessary deaths and the flaws, I still enjoyed the movie. I'd see it again if I had the chance.

I like the concept where Phoenix is only the other personality of Jean.I don't want that comicky Phoenix bird .And as for the best scene,it'd be Phoenix vs Xavier's. It got me a bit misty when Storm and Wolvie cried over the empty wheel chair. My friends threatened to kill if they wouldn't like it, but geez we came out discussing the movie.

I've been following the first movie since fall of 99 when it started filming in Toronto, and followed every piece of x-movie news up til the release of X3.
I am a huge fan of the movies.

I am sad to say that X3 is a really disappointing movie for me because of how they handled Cyclops, Rogue and Angel and their interpretation of Dark Phoenix was just sloppy. Wolverine shouldn't have been the one to bring Jean back. Is it not what the Phoenix saga was about. It was focused on Scott and Jean. And no Pheonix effect? Jesus!:down

When did you become the forum police?
Umm, that wasn't really negative anyways.

Do you even hear yourself?

*sighs*

If I were talking to you, I'd quote your post.

It's because you have in your mind what x3 is supposed to be. If you just watch it as a movie, then you'd i guess enjoyed it much.

i am open to other peoples opinions...what did you not think was good about the movie? that isn't a a double sided question there are stuff i didn't think was good about it, but not to the extent of saying that the movie was not good, but i am interested to hear what you think makes it not a good movie (not xmen related stuff, cause like i said before there is not one xmen fan in the world 100 percent happy with this movie, or any of the xmen movies)
like did you not like the acting, tone, style, writing, story, cinemetography, timing? cause i don't like the handling of cyclops, but from a movie stand point that doesn't make the film worse

Who cares what a bunch of losers on the internet say, this movie will do huge business. All the reaction from the audience was great, and I saw it more than once and everytime, they loved it!

It felt more like the comic and that's 'cause Singer left , and now there's a fan at the helm.

It felt more open, more free, it felt more like watching a comic book movie. Storm finally got to use her powers for goodness sake!

from an xmen stand point....do i ever agree with the fact that i think cyclops should have been the one to kill jean, 100 percent, they also should have been married in X2(if they where it should be more obvious) to make it even harder for him to kill her like he has to...that would be cool

but in reality, who is the franchises most popular character, and the one guy they can garuntee fans will revolve around? Wolverine, sometimes it sucks other times it doesn't, i personally don't mind it that much, but haveing cyclops make the desicion to kill jean would have been alot deeper

I heard you too

PS you look great in that outfit

the house scene and the wolverine/jean scene at the end were > then all of the 1st two movies combined. I dare rank it higher than nightcrawlers assault on the white house.

I also loved that it was finally the X-Men vs Magneto. In 1 they are essentially against his machine and trying to stop that. Then in 2 they are trying to stop the fake cerebro machine from killing everyone. In this one it was finally ok, we have to take out magneto.
