Fantastic Four Animated Series Discussion

That's a good point actually. I think all the haters need to look back pretty much every superhero cartoon in recent years and notice how the first seasons are always cringeworthy to some extent but really mature as the show progresses. Justice League, X-Men Evolution, The Batman... Everyone who hated the shows but continued watching them developed at least a fond tolerance.

And really, what are the major complaints for this series? Ben's got a 4 painted on his chest and Johnny acts like a little kid? Well the first one is just plain superficial and considering that there are no children on this show for the widest viewership group to relate to, we can let Johnny slide. Or would you rather this generation of toon viewers insist "Ben 10 is so much cooler than the Fantastic 4!"?

We have haters on here???? Looks to me like they are simply giving their opinions.

I think the the fact that Johnny is a teenager and acts like a 5 year old, and talks like a whiney 6 year old......is a valid complaint....

As far as the rest, coming from someone that doesn't watch ANY cartoons, its very enjoyable....but I guess my complaint up there makes me a hater. :cwink:

"He seems to love the show, whereas I would wipe its existence from the face of the Earth if I could."

"Oui. C'est merde!"

ok i seen 5 seconds of it...its crap.
anime...no way.

Yes, yes, all glowing endorsements to be sure LOL. I gave you my opinion on Johnny so I won't argue your point because I doubt we'll sway each other... you, sPiteful, blackhearted hater ;)

I like. the cartoon. the short time it was on cartoon network i watched it every saturday.

Ive heard from credible sources that the cartoon will return to Cartoon Network in June.

^^ That's cool. I just got a chance to catch a couple of the episodes on Youtube and they weren't bad. I really liked the episode "Hard Knocks" (I think that was the name) where Ben fought the Hulk. I find Johnny a bit goofier in this cartoon then in the comics but he does have some good lines like "But we beat the Mole Man" LOL. I laughed at that one. Also got a chance to see the Silver Surfer cartoon(his own animated series) that I never saw before and that is really good to me. Wish they would have did the second season so that the arc that was started could have been completed and his meeting the Fantastic Four would have been introduced. Alas, it was not to be but who knows, maybe they will start it up again after the movie.

I picked up the first DVD and the "Doomed" episode wasnt half bad. It has very recognizable echoes to FF#10 where Victor and Reed switched bodies. Reed even used Doom's mask to break out of his prison, just like in the comic.

It'd be a lot better if you saw the episode that it was playing off of, "Doomsday," the series pilot. For some reason, the DVD includes episodes 2, 4, 6 and 8. I have NO IDEA what they were thinking with that setup.

Have any of you seen the ep where they all change powers?

It has reed as the thing and he's in reed's costume the whole time...

do any of you think this sort of design would have been better suited to ben than his trousers and graffitti look?

Good news on the return of the show. Also, this weekend Boomerang has an FF 1967 series marathon on. It starts late in the afternoon and goes into the evening. I think there are about 13 episodes scheduled.

Cartoon Network is even doing some kind of contest on Toonami for FF:ROTS.

They've been playing the TV spots like crazy too.

Cool. I'll definitely watch it when it comes back! I was tied down with school work- college and all that ****- have to find a way to see the past episodes. Mind too focused on work and sleeping so I can work and manage to get a good GPA.

Bah,now i believe that those rumors were true. That the cartoon was put on Cartoon Network last year,to basically tell viewers that the movie would be out next year.My sources say that the cartoon will be aired in full, and a good chance of the episodes being aired in the right order.

I'm watching Naruto, and a commercial just aired saying this show will be back on June 9th.

Yeah I agree...but it's still cool to atleast of a cartoon of the FF. Even though the anime style isn't that great for this show.

The CGI effects work. Clearly, it's a post-Fantastic Four movie kind of show, but it would be nice to see a more mature take on the characters in animation.

Yeah I agree. Though, isn't Namor set to show up in this show?

Don't know. I've only seen a few episodes. Regardless, it'll be focusing on the kid venue.

Ok. It's just cause I remember someone posting a link to the episodes to come and recall seeing Namor being mentioned. I think he's going to be part of a two part episode.
