It definitely feels like the hype machine isn't as big this time around. Granted the last one had Paul's death surrounding it, but even Fast 6 felt like it had more momentum. At this point, it still looks enjoyable but without Brian, Han, Gisele, or even Mia, it feels incomplete.

The ridiculousness has led to way too much CGI it seems. I felt Fast Five had some impressive practical effects and just enough CGI to suspend belief for a couple hours. However, this one (at least the first trailer) had me shaking my head.

The reliance on CGI hurt the F&F7 finale. The whole drone thing just wasn't interesting or fun to watch. Thankfully the movie recovered with the Vin/Statham fight and The Rock's return.

Fast Five definitely has the best final setpiece of the franchise.

My issue with this movie has always been that it just feels superfluous. F7 was such an absolute blast of a film and such a fitting sendoff not only to Walker but to the franchise in general. I just cant see this movie and future movies topping 7 without bring completely ridiculous and 7 already pushed the limits of ridiculousness.

I would rather they start a new story with a new cast instead of milking these characters dry.

Hmmm...

Still not quite sure on this one. Loved 5, 6 was pretty great and 7 was the kind of movie you just knew you had to shut your brain off for a few fun hours.

I've been respecting the marketing a bit for this one, just for the simple fact that they have us all wondering what in the world make Dom turn against his family. But then, did they really just give away in the final shots of this newest trailer how they bring down the sub?
