Inspired by the "Favorite Sequel" thread...which "First in the franchise" installment was your favorite?

Sequels and Reboots are not included, with the exception of "The Avengers".

It's between Batman, X-Men, and Iron Man for me. I can't decide.

I love Superman The Movie, Batman (89), and Blade.

But gave my vote to Blade.

Then why is Batman 89 on your list if reboots aren't included?

Batman for DC and Iron Man for Marvel.

Captain America was a reboot.

Yes, that's right. So was the Thomas Jane Punisher and Ang Lee Hulk. Thor and Daredevil are a bit of a grey area, since they appeared in earlier Hulk films, but not their own.

Batman 1989 was pretty huge for me. I started collecting comics after I saw the film.

Superman had been on the screen for many years prior,
but Superman the Movie certainly felt like his first real movie outing.

Going to have to go with that one. Still an amazing movie.

easily SUPERMAN THE MOVIE!!
i remember being a kid in the theater seeing the comic book open and the John Williams theme and was completely blown away by it! i remember getting the goosebumps when Chris opened his shirt with the "S" underneath!it was the like the 1st flick i ever went to see 3 times too.still dig it too!

 So hard choosing, I'm in my later-30's and I love almost every movie on your list. It was cheesy, but I have to vote Superman The Movie (1978) because Christopher Reeve was absolutely perfect in the role and the John Williams soundtrack is still iconic to me as an adult.

Very close seconds for me are Micheal Keaton's Batman, slightly leading equally ahead of Iron Man and Cap: TFA. :hrt:

X-Men is the GOAT film. I think they're the whole reason we get such great superhero films nowadays. Before X-Men every superhero movie (other than Blade) was taken more light and funny, than seriously.

The Avengers and Thor are at the top, followed by Iron Man and X-Men, and then by Captain America: The First Avenger.

Batman 89 and Superman The Movie. Went with Batman though I love both.

Yeah, I would say Superman: The Movie was his first real film. He had a television show, cartoons, and a theatrical serial, but it was the first full-length singular film.

As opposed to Batman whose first film was the 1966 film.

Between X-Men, Spider-Man, Superman and Iron Man. This is a toughie

Technically Captain America TFA shouldn't be here as it's a reboot

Other: Batman Begins. If that doesn't count, then Hellboy.
