Favorite CBM Villain (2017)

Not knowing anything about Thor, she looks kind of silly. But then I don't know anything about Thor. Wouldn't a well placed hammer blow on those antlers break her neck?

I suggest you look at the gifs in the spoiler tag for sort of an answer (it's nothing but gifs from the trailer). :)

I'm surprised at how much of a pass X-24 gets for being a boring, lazy, cheap plot device. The movie overall is so well-done that I guess that gets glossed over.

I would have much rather seen Omega Red or Sabretooth.

X-24's reveal wouldn't have been nearly effective if it had been Sabretooth or Omega Red. Granted, a lot of that should go to Patrick Stewart, but good god, was the X-24 scene powerful.

I guess that sort of shows my lack of knowledge about Thor. I thought only Thor could lift his hammer.

She is Odin levels of power, which is a lot more powerful than Thor. In the comics at least. Odin has took on Galactus and Thanos in the comics.

Agreed, very powerful and scary moment.

She can lift it (although technically she just stops it as she grabs it when Thor throws it at her) in the scene because she's more powerful than the enchantment Odin put on it. Granted she does seem to be powered up compared to the comics, so it wasn't really something anyone expected to happen in the movie (save for someone having read rumors).

That was an amazing moment. Also it was fitting it was him, anyone else wouldn't be so poignant. It was literally Logan this heroic guy with this amazing soul facing something that was a reflection of him but entirely soulless. It made everything Logan has been through gain even more importance - all those things that happened shaped him into who he was, X-24 was just empty, what Logan would be without his experiences as painful as they were

Donald Pierce gets my vote.

Vulture wins. Hands down. Hela could still beat him, but Keaton brought his A-game and the writing was surprisingly clever with him. A blue collar schmo who kind of backfalls into this gig. And then he is good at it. I will not say more, but Marvel finally has a villain with some teeth.

Tough call right now between Ego and Vulture. I liked them both a lot. Both were actually kinda similar, really.

Spider-Man is all about fighting evil father figures.

I think I'll go with Vulture, because even if the twist on Ego was really good, the one with Vulture is even better and leads to one of the best scenes in the whole MCU. And Vulture also has it in his favor that

he could come back and hopefully continue his interesting dynamic with Spider-Man.

1. Vulture
2. Ego
3. Joker (Lego Batman)
4. Donald Pierce
5. Ares

yeah it's a tough call between Ego and Vulture. I'm giving a slight edge to Vulture right now, because Keaton was just so damn good! How many of you are old enough to remember the backlash from casting him as Batman, because all anyone saw him as was Mr. Mom? Both guys are fabulous actors though, and both did a fantastic job.

1) Ares (It was exciting to see his full on costume on screen fighting Diana! Loved the World War I aspect)
2) Ego (I didn't like the decision to make Ego a villain but it was executed really well)
3) Vulture (Keaton was so good, movie wouldn't have worked that well without him)
4) X-24 (Logan's a very good film but I found the villain completely forgettable)

Vulture has taken the lead over Ego for me. Keaton did a great job with his role and the modern upgrade of the suit worked great.

Yeah, the costume for Vulture is amazing. One of the best reimaginings of a superhero/villain outfit in film that I've ever seen. Another point in his favor.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Hela. We could have a year with 3 of the greatest CBM villains in a single year.

Having just seen Homecoming, the best we've had this year so far is the Vulture by a long shot.

Vulture was excellent in Homecoming. Michael Keaton delivered an amazing performance, and the writing for Vulture was also quite good. The script gave him many interesting layers as a character, giving us a villain who was threatening, desperate, and unhinged, yet also remarkably sympathetic and relatable at the same time. Keaton did a great job of presenting the character's many emotions and motivations.

I enjoyed the Shocker too. He was quite fun as a supporting villain in the movie. Bokeem Woodbine handled the role nicely.

1.Vulture
2.Ego
3.Donald Pierce
4.Ares

The Vulture owns this just by virtue of that one excellent scene/twist. Y'all know the one.

Ego was okay at best. Not sure why the praise with him. He spent most of the film standing around explaining things to Quill.

Vulture on the other hand :db:

Vulture is the clear winner here. Hela will be the only competition. Ego was well done though.

Vulture is right up there with Dock Ock, just a notch below Ledger Joker, as the greatest villains in comic book movies up to this point. Amazing performance by Keaton.
