Just to go along with the NOES thread, since I've always been more of a Jason fan...

I've gotta go with my personal "holy trinity" of the series.... Friday parts 3, 4, and 6.

Part 6 because it was funny.
Freddy vs. Jason will always be my favorite Freddy or Jason movie because their most standalone movies are crap.

Part 6 was good,part 7 was cool but honestly zombie jason is not as scary as regular ******ed looking jason, regular jason had a creppier more realistic look like some disfigured mutant running around the woods for years. Part 3 is my favorite and the scariest of them all.

I think a hulking zombie that can't be killed by anything other than decapitation is way scarier and meaner than just a regular hobo in a mask.

That's why his movies are better than the Michael Myers ones.

However, I do agree that Part 3 was the scariest...if only they didn't use that 3-d crap though. It severely dates the movie and some of the shoddy effects work is plain as day on DVD lol.

I used to watch part 3 and 6 all the time when I was a kid back in the mid 80's,looking back I can't believe my parents let me watch that stuff when I was like 6 -8 years old. Nudity and all.

Yeah that sucked, as you can notice the scenes that are 3-d like the apple throwing and the yo-yo oh and some of the killings. Talking about the killings I just love the part were that guy is upside down hand walking and jason comes and slashes him with the machete and then later when his girlfriend looks up in the hammock he's chopped in the ceiling and you can see his guts.

All the FT13 movies up to part 6 SUCK.

What an odd statement.

Ok I love all of the Friday movies in their own way (though parts 9 and 10 admittedly outdo the rest of the series in cheap sh***yness) but the first ones are absolute classics! After part 6 everything has a completely (instead of slightly) straight to video feel to it. I like all of those later movies but the first 6 (excluding 5) are in a class above them IMHO... My fav by far is part 3. Everything seems top notch. I love the hippies in the van and the biker gang and the disco theme song. And I LOVE the cinematography. In Widescreen its really nice to look at. A defining 80s trash classic for me.. Plus how can you dismiss all those Savini effects in 1 & 4 that outdo anything else in the series?

Yeah I don't now why but the hippies gave it a sort of TCM feel to it in a way it added an element to the creppiness. Plus the first 4 had that kinda documentary feel also that the others that came after didn't have, after part 6 jason was transformed into the studio's b*tch,if you know what I mean Oh lets make him stronger and more invisible superhuman like,
IMO this is what stripped jason from his scariness so to speak, the frist 4 had him being kinda clumsy and he had some manerisms he looked more human and at the same time that vulnerability made him creppier as he came back every time you could think what the hell this ****ing mutant psycho killer is still alive? it felt more real. And to be honest in parts 3 and 4 the make-up was superb and although 3 is my favorite, jason in part 4 looked horrible(in a good way, Horay savini!).making it the best jason make-up to date.
