I just bought the Friday the 13th box set,and saw most of the movies, although I had seen them before, first I saw the extras which are okay but to be honest I expected more something in the lenth of the NOES extras. But anyway I have read reviews for all of the movies and many people say part 4 is their favorite,I just saw part 3 and 4 back to back plus I have seen the other ones. I'll putthem in order from best to worse.

1)Friday the 13th part3
2)Friday the 13th part 4
3)Friday the 13th part 2
4)Friday the 13th part 6
5)Friday the 13th
6)Friday the 13th part 7
7)Friday the 13th part 5
8)Friday the 13th Jason takes manhattan

Now which is your favorite Friday the 13th and why. lets discuss and see how many agree with each other on their preference.

I thought all of them were doinked up. I like Freddy vs. Jason

Ok ... imo part 6 is the best all-round movie.
Solid acting, good story flow and the production values seem to be higher.

Part 7 features the definitive Jason.
Full-on zombie monster ... and when the mask splits .... wow!

Incredible make-up.

I thought FVJ was good when I first saw it. I think I gaved it an 7 or 8...but then I saw it again or thought about it...and I rechanged my grade to a 5 something. FVJ had bad dialouge, and the script left a lot to be desired.

My favorite Friday movie...I think it's...either part five or six. Maybe seven. Sits bits and pieces of the first four, seen the rest of the series.

Well the thing that I dont like about part 5 is that in the end you find out that the killer was not jason but a damn paramedic, and he got ****ed up pretty bad in the movie and he still kept going. You invest in the movie and then you get disilusioned by the end plot twist.

The only thing I don't like about part 2 3 and 4 is that jason's face changes in between each and they take place in the same time frame only days apart from each other. In part 2 he was like the guy from gonnies but with hair on the sides of his head, than on part 3 he sudenly didn't have any hair and his face changed a bit too, then in part 4 he had a little bit of hair on the back of his head and his face looked older and more disfigured although it was for me the best make-up it didn't follow hte rules of continuity.

Other than that I love those three parts.

Part 1
Part 6
Part 7

I like those the best...

I don't really like any of them. Horror movies are BORING.

Oh geeze, I love em all. But i've got to go with part 6, that was incredible.

They are all fun to watch with the exception of JTM. It was way too gimmicky.
But the ones that Stnd out:
F13 parts 1, 4, 6 and 7.

i cant remember if it's 6 or 7, but the one where the grown up tommy wants to dig jasons body up to burn it, then winds up reanimating jason by stabbing him with a piece of iron fence which then gets struck by lightening. i like that one quite a bit. jason takes manhattan is funny. and jason goes to hell entertained me as well

Friday 6: Jason Lives is the best Friday film out there. It's really the first one that looked like it was filmed with any kind of high production values and handled with care. It was also the first Friday film where not one cast member was annoying/boring to me. All of them looked like they were having fun with their roles. There's a lot of comedy interspersed between the kills but it never seems forced. Thom Matthews does an excellent job as the adult Tommy Jarvis and he gives Friday the 13th that Dr. Loomis kind of character that had been missing throughout the franchise. CJ Graham is right up there with Kane Hodder as my favorite portrayer of Jason. He had the Terminator-like vibe going on. I loved the quick head/body turns and all that. The only thing that bothers me is his mask is a bit too big but I can live with that.

The atmosphere is GREAT in this film. Other than H4 it's probably my favorite slasher movie as far as atmosphere goes. JL is dark, foggy, shadowy, windy...just everything I could want. The film is glossy but somehow (in parts) maintains that grainy, colorless late 70's, early 80's look that I love in horror films...especially the camp scenes in the final 1/3 of the movie.

The music is excellent. Harry Manfredini out-did himself with this particular Friday score. It was faster paced than usual and had an adventurous sound to it. He had a bombastic, Frankenstein kind of vibe going that I loved...particularly with the scene where Sheriff Garris is trying to put Jason down with the shotgun. The music just conveyed to me that Jason wasn't human anymore. He was larger than life and he wasn't going to stay down.

The kills...simply great. Never have they been more creative. JL still has my favorite kill of all-time....

I don't think this film has one weakness in it and it's my standard by which all other Friday (and slasher films in general) are judged. If they had given CJ Graham's Jason the same make-up job as the Kane Hodder in Part 7 it would have been the ultimate Friday film.

And I guess my rankings for all the films would go like this (the Friday movies I don't like won't be listed)...

2). Friday Part 4
3). Friday Part 2
4). Friday Part 3
5). Friday Part 7
6). JGTH
7). Friday the 13th
8). Friday Part 5...I honestly don't like this film but I have to admit I can watch it as a comedy and laugh my ass off. The greasers, Ethel and Junior are just too damn funny.

1. part 7
2. part 6
3. part 2
4. part 1
5. part 4
6. part 3
7. part 8
8. part 5

I like everything about part 7...everything. The thing I really didn't like about part 5 was I can deal with someone pretendiing to be Jason, but shouldn't appear to have his supernatural abilities.

The first one was the best. The second one was decent at least. The rest is crap.

All of the sequels are atrocious, but my fav is part 7, just cause Jason is the most badass in that one.

part 1 was better than part 2, part 6 is one of the best, i like fvj but i would have prefered if they continued with part 9, 10, 11 , 12 and 13 and then make fvj.
part VIII was terrible, it should be rebooted, why the hell didn´t attack everybody that he saw in manhatan, he just killed the crew from the boat.
