Favorite/Least Favorite Year for Comic Book Movies

Before this year, 2008 gave us Iron Man and The Dark Knight. One that gave birth to the MCU and the other the finest film in the superhero genre.

With that said, 2017 could give it a run for its money. Lego Batman and Guardians 2 were good, and Logan and Wonder Woman were great. Assuming the next three are at least good, this might be the year with the most consistent and high quality movies in the genre.

I accidentally picked 2009 because I thought the poll was asking for our least favorite year for CBMs. The year 2009 was definitely a low point for CBMs because there were no comic book adaptations that I really liked, and there were many failures like X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

My favorite years for CBMs would definitely include ones others have mentioned: 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016. I also look back fondly on 2002 and 2004 because of Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, respectively.

I will say 2017 looks like it could give 2016 a run for its money. We've already had 3 really good CBMs and there's still 3 more big ones on the way that all look good to amazing.

I won't count DTVs, everything else seems to be shaping up well this year.

2017 could be the best quantity + quantity wise but 2008 or 2012 are definitely the most momentous.

I gotta say this year is just keep getting better by the movie... SM:HC arrived and has been really well received. Next in line Valerian, Kingsman: TGC, then Thor Ragnarok and Justice League to close the year.

This year keeps on giving and in a big way. It sure looks like it's going after that number 1 spot.
