Man ... do I feel old now ... :csad:

1972 The Godfather

Do I win a prize or something?

Finally, someone on here older than I am. Most of the posts I've seen on this thread have been for movies that came out while I was in high school.

Night of the Living Dead
Planet of the Apes
The Producers
2001
Rosemary's Baby
Bullitt

1968

Ya, ya, old fart, etc :oldrazz:

Don't feel to bad guys. I see some of these 1990 to 94 movie answers and I feel old as f*** myself even though none of us are ready for the nursing home or anything.

I saw Batman Returns in theaters and even had some of the figures when it came out. :csad:

Being 40+ is what it is, but being 8 when the original Star Wars (not "ANH", but just plain 'ol "Star Wars") was brand-new was a pretty awesome experience that I'll never forget.

You were born in a great year for movies though. Planet of The Apes, 2001, and Night of The Living Dead are three of my all time favorites.

Good year. But I'd put Once Upon a Time in the West as my top 1968 IMO.

No film where Arnold Schwarzenegger says the words "I promise I will not kill anyone" will ever surpass The Terminator IMHO.

Yeah, but that just means he gets to maim people throughout the rest of the movie. Loved him shooting people in the kneecaps saying "he'll live".

I was born in '77, so Star Wars.

I'm with ya Dounuts. '89 that'd be the year of Batman

A Fish Calles Wanda, Die Hard, Beetle Juice... all good films. But 88 wasn't the best year of cinema. 85 was...

:highfive:

I'm just about to the 40 club and one of my fondest/earliest memories was seeing Star Wars (I agree, just Star Wars) in the theater.

(It's also still just Raiders to me ... Not Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.)

I cannot believe how young everyone is here. I feel so old... :(

I always call it Star Wars, and I will always refer to it as "the first movie."

I thought I was going to struggle with this, but actually, 1991 was a pretty sweet year for film. You had The Addams Family, Beauty and the Beast, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, Cape Fear, The Doors, Father of the Bride, Hook, Hot Shots!, Naked Gun 2, Point Break, The Rocketeer, The Silence of the Lambs, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Terminator 2!

I think it's a tie between Hook and The Rocketeer. Both supremely under-rated adventure film's.

Man, a couple of decent films came out way back in 1990, but it definitely would have to be a split decision between Goodfellas (one of the best mobster movies ever made) and Exorcist III: Legion (one of the scariest films ever made).
