yeah, they tend to do that with comedies and completely saturate their trailers with their best bits with usually better comedic timing than is shown in the actual film...



Wedding crashers especially comes to mind here....

Does the fact that a movie doesn't live up to the expectations of a trailer make the trailer that much better in hindsight????

I don't think so. Even if I never saw Once Upon a Time in Mexico I still would have the opinion that it's technically one of the best trailers ever made.

Infamous spidey 2 'hero' trailer


i don't know why but with so much dialogue in this one, it's like actually watching a mini movie, plus there is quite a lot of action shown as well while none of it is really so revealing...

the music and moods and the three parts of the advert showing dillema, reaction and consequences of parker's decision come across beautifully and you think they are going to do a good job of the film...

*sigh*

i've watched spidey countless times, but this ad still gets me geared up. way better than the film.

who ever put it together is a god among men.



saying this, the first forty seconds of the spidey 3 trailer and the last bit when it pans out and he's upside down is probably put together by God's older cooler big bro. the rest of it is meh but he already excelled with what he did so he cruised with the rest of it

the funny thing is, maul never revealed he had a double edged lightsaber until that shot in the actual movie.


think of the impact of seeing maul unveil a double edged lightsaber without any prior knowlegde of its existence.

I could see it being a negative aspect if revealed so late, the appreciation for it needed to be hyped up i think...

on the other hand, a lot of star wars fans probably would have died from excitement. it's not like the fights weren't spectacular as well but that added bonus would have simply killed us. we are only human...
