I can't write a decent thread introduction so I better just post my picks..

ReGenesis

I gotta thank FX Latin America for this one. Great show.

ReGenesis is a Canadian television program produced by The Movie Network and Movie Central in conjunction with Shaftesbury Films. The series, which ran for four seasons, revolves around the scientists of NorBAC (The North American Biotechnology Advisory Commission), a fictional organization with a lab based in Toronto. The organization investigates problems of a scientific nature, such as bio-terrorism, mysterious diseases or radical changes in environment throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico. NorBAC is headed by David Sandström (played by Peter Outerbridge), the chief scientist and molecular biologist. Through this character the show often addresses topical social, political and ethical issues related to the science at hand.

Wire in the Blood

Every saturday I'd check this and The Wire (in HBO Latin America)--quite a pair.. The only bad thing about this show is that they release only 4 episodes a year.

Wire in the Blood is an ITV television series, based on characters created by Val McDermid, which teams a university clinical psychologist, Dr. Anthony "Tony" Valentine Hill (Robson Green), with a tough female Detective Inspector, originally Carol Jordan (Hermione Norris) but replaced by Detective Inspector Alex Fielding (Simone Lahbib) from series four onwards.

Prime Suspect

Another british quality product, and again, a show that was delivered in scarce portions (interesting definition)

Prime Suspect is a British police procedural television drama series made by Granada Television for the ITV network in the 1990s and 2000s. Helen Mirren portrays no-nonsense female Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Jane Tennison (later promoted to Detective Superintendent), surviving and thriving in a male-dominated profession. The character was said to be based on Jackie Malton, who acted as an advisor to the authors.

I highly recommend any of these series. Watch them. Now.

Doctor Who
Torchwood had a horrible first season but a fantastic second.

Once upon a time it would be Digimon or Dragonball Z.

I don't watch much tv anymore, so that's the best I can give.

Rising Damp

Fawlty Towers

The Prisoner

The Avengers

The Comic Strip Presents

The Young Ones

I'm sure that I can list others...

Absolutely Fabulous!!

Limiting my self to shows that are currently being made.

If non-fiction shows count then "Top Gear" takes the top place.

Hmmm, I´m actually drawing a blank on non-american tv shows at the moment :csad: I guess nearly everything I watch is made for american tv stations. If you consider stuff made in Canada but for american channels as non-american then I could name a bunch

ReGenesis

one of my best friends had a reoccuring role on the show, he was the gay son of the new scientist lady and administrator, that wrestled with the latin guy, and got eaten by a bear.

I'm enjoying 'Being Human' on BBC Three at the minute. A vampire, a werewolf and a ghost share a house in Bristol. Good special effects, funny as well. I usually like Spooks though (was in America as MI5).

I love "Fawlty Towers". :woot:

Life on Mars is must-see TV.
The follow-up, Ashes to Ashes, is more self-consciously tongue-in-cheek, but worth a look.

Being Human is also interesting. It walks a strange line between sitcom and bleak drama that doesn't always work, but most of the time it comes very, very close to getting it right.

Doctor Who
Torchwood
Primeval
ReGenesis
One Piece

Do Canadian shows count? Cause if not, I dont have any, sad as that is.

I've never give Sarah Jane a chance - it's always on a rubbish time

It's got a very old school Doctor Who vibe, don't let the teenage companions of Sarah Jane fool you. It's actually a really good show. It had a terrible pilot and first few season 1 episodes, but has improved VERY much to where I think it's the better spin-off over Torchwood.
