Favourite Scene of the Trilogy?

The title pretty much makes the purpose of the thread clear: what is your personal favourite scene from the X-Men trilogy?

As there are so many to choose from, there are only a handful in the poll and so I have left the 'Other' option for people to elaborate on.

This thread is merely to discuss people's favourite parts from the films, see what we agree/disagree on, what were the most impressive/memorable scenes etc.

Hands down, it's gotta be the Nightcrawler/White House scene.

X2: Jean's sacrifice or

X3: Phoenix v Xavier at the Grey home

I'm going to pick Phoenix vs Xavier (in X3) because that scene was everything to me: exciting, epic, dramatic, and emotional. I knew Xavier was going to die way before seeing the film, but it still managed to shock me.

I'm going to pick Phoenix vs Xavier (in X3) because that scene was everything to me: exciting, epic, dramatic, and emotional. I knew Xavier was going to die way before seeing the film, but it still managed to shock me.

the Phoenix vs. Xavier scene just wasn't executed well enough for me in my opinion. It had all the potential to be very emotional but it lacked. In all honesty, it just looked like a glorified staring contest. It coulda used some mental images or something that showcases that they are actually in a psychic duel. Plus Xavier being lifted looked so obvious that he was on wires and whats with that slow-mo shot trying to be all Matrixy?

-Jean Grey's sacrifice in X2

-Magneto's speech to the church in X-Men: The Last Stand

I thought the entire scene of Jean's sacrifice and the team's reaction was the best! It had the action and emotion it needed. Great performances, music, and the Phoenix Effect!

I always enjoyed the Jean Grey voiceover at the end of X2 with Phoenix just about to burst through the water with a massive Phoenix effect.

To me it's Phoenix vs Xavier. Even though I knew he would die, it still managed to catch me. I felt for Xavier at that moment.

Honarable, very honorable mentions go to:

-Magneto escaping his plastic prison. I still think it has one of the best lines of the trilogy: "Too much Iron on your blood". It always makes me smile. That is pure Magneto.

-Logan and Rogue in X1. Beautiful scene.

-Nightcralwer attack. The best action scene without a doubt.

-Jean's sacrifice. X3 should watch that scene until eternity and learn something from it.

-Storm's multiple tornadoes. Best...whatever, it's the best something of the trilogy. Maybe best visual moment? :\

-Magneto's origin. I once hoped his spin-off carried that mood throughout the movie. Pff.

I went for Strykers raid on the masion in X2, amazing scene.

Closely followed by Nightcrawler's attack on the White house, then the Tornado air chase scene.

I have so many favourites.. but the only ones I have rewatched over and over on DVD are

1) Storm's 'walk of power', crackling with electricity, when she emerges from the elevator in X1 and zaps Toad. Love the lightning flying off her hair, the growl of thunder before he flies out of the room, the way she smashes the glass doors, the scientifically correct 'positive streamer' of lightning that goes upward from her head before the bolt comes down to strike Toad (an electrical charge DOES go upward from/near the target of lightning).

2) Magneto in the machine on his island. The nearest we got to that magnetic force bubble. Love the effects on that. The way he cries out in pain as the energy is drawn from his body, the way it emerges from the top and bottom of the machine and then snaps together in the middle with a grit of his teeth to form an electromagnetic energy field which then sends out waves of EM radiation.

Both so well done.

I wish David Hayter had never left the franchise. I don't know if those ideas were his, but that first movie had a moody suspense and climax that somehow wasn't matched again. X2 lacked some of the climactic power, X3 lacked some of the atmospheric and suspenseful mood.

In these days, are those little momments between the x-men my favourites scenes, like Rogue giving the thanks to Kurt in X2, for example. Of course, there are so many scenes from each sequel that are fan favourites, and are great, but like I miss characters development, the little momments are the best for me.

I LOVED Pyro's attack, followed by Rogue's power absorption. The latter part should be mentioned, 'cause that's my favorite.

Jean's sacrifice was simply amazing for me. I didn't hang around these boards when I saw the film and it came as a complete suprise for me.

The whole scene was just a great way to end the film and shake things up for the X-Men. (Plus the ending with Jean reciting the opening monologue from X1 gave me goosebumps).

Dark Phoenix vs. Xavier in X3. Really intense and emotional sequence.

Nightcrawler's attack on the White House blew everything else away. It had great visuals, a great introduction to an iconic character, and it really hooked you into the film quickly.

Its between jeans sacrifice and her and xaviers battle for me too...I picked her sacrifice but if the x3 wouldve had the voice overs included then i prob would've picked the fight
