FEBRUARY 2008 SALES CHARTS & MARKET SHARE REPORT- X-Force is #1

To me, I think we only really need Uncanny, and then you can have all those auxiliary books like X-Force and Young X-Men and whatnot. Astonishing was created solely to give Whedon a spotlight book, that and he couldn't hold a deadline or factor into continuity at all. Astonishing should end with Whedon.

I agree with that title arrangement, sort of, but I think Legacy may have a better story than Uncanny for the time being. They're both pretty early in their current arcs, though.

The X-Men line should be, at this point, Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force, Gen X or New Mutants, and Wolverine. That's pretty much all the line needs.

I don't think we even need that many. Uncanny X-Men is and should be the flagship title. I don't see why stories like what's going on in X-Men: Legacy couldn't fit as a side story in Uncanny. The same goes with X-Force. I like that book, but do we need it? I don't think so. Put the stories in Uncanny. Young X-Men looks terrible, and unless I can get my Generation X back, the X-books don't need a book specifically devoted to the younger generation. These new kids suck, anyway. X-Factor has an identity all it's own and should stay. Wolverine will obviously stay.

Uncanny X-Men
X-Factor
Wolverine

That's how I'd do it.

I think Uncanny X-Men might get a little too jam-packed with characters and arcs if that happened. Unless they did something like ASM and put it out more than once a month.

I thought we were just ditching the extra junk. If it's going to be more than once a month, sure, throw as many arcs as you like into Uncanny X-Men.

Yeah, and added half of their plots into Uncanny, which is why I thought it might be a bit much for a monthly comic to handle.

Monthly comics handle more than one storyline all the time. Look at UXM, right now. We've got the boys in Russia and Scott, Emma and Warren in 'Frisco. I don't see how continuing that formula and making it ship 3 times a month would be more than that book can handle.

Didn't we already cover the fact that I didn't realize you were upping it to 3 times a month? You never mentioned the 3-times-a-month thing in your initial post.

Uncanny Weekly!

Brubaker and Choi
Carey and Eaton
PAD and Raimondi
Yost/Kyle and Crain

YAY!

EDIT: Of course we can rotate artists in and out. Some that come to mind are Tan (because he seems to be the X-Office ***** right now), Hairsine, maybe a Finch arc, Travel Foreman , and maybe with this type of schedule we can get an arc or two out of Sook on the X-Factor week! And Stroman, because he's already been announced, even though his art sucks now.

I'd buy that, if for no other reason than to eliminate some more books on my pull list.

Oh yeah, Stroman's coming back to X-Factor. His style is kind of weird and Imagey. I guess I can get used to it if PAD's still on board, though.

1 vote for Uncanny Weekly!

Dude, just say it, the art sucks. I mean, I'll take Khoi Pham at this point.:csad:

Sadly, Raimondi is already out.:csad::csad::csad::csad:

Here's hoping he landed some big book.

Isn't he doing that Quicksilver book with PAD? That should be good.

Oh, and my picks for the new streamlined X-books:

Uncanny X-Men (thrice monthly)
Carey/Hairsine
Fraction/Bachalo
Guggenheim/Choi
Brubaker/Garney

X-Factor
PAD/Raimondi (there is no substitute)

Wolverine (rotating arcs)
Rucka/Weeks
Aaron/Yu

I'd pull Garney off Uncanny and put him back on Wolverine. He tends to do a lot better with single-character books. Meanwhile, Yu can draw team books at super-speed, apparently. Swap those two and that would be awesome.

Except I'd get rid of Choi, too. I didn't like his work much.

The previews I've seen didn't fill me with joy, no. It kind of reminded me of Whilce Portacio's art, and I hate being reminded of Whicle Portacio's art.

Portacio didn't always suck. He used to be good. Didn't he have to relearn how to draw or use his hands or something recently?

I'd rather see Garney on a big book like Uncanny, plus I think Yu's grittier style would lend itself better to a gritty Aaron script. I wouldn't hate a swaping of Yu and Garney, though.

And you can just skip the Choi month. ;)

Not that I know of.

According to Wikipedia, he fell into a diabetic coma in 2000 and when he came out of it a week later, he had to relearn how to do pretty much everything.

Huh, never knew that. That makes me feel bad for him but not like his art any more.

I wouldn't not buy a Portacio book, I don't think. That said, I don't know if I've seen his work in a good 10 years, so...

It's a one shot.

And good teams. I guess we do need at least one Wolverine book.

So we have:

Uncanny Weekly (Sort of)- Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, Young/New/Generation X-Men

X-Factor
Wolverine

Are we including X-Force in Uncanny Weekly?
