Vince needs to hire Richard Sherman. He's the new Booker T. Now can you dig that.....

SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Remember before this thread gets closed I made Title suggestions:

What The Wrestling Thread Know About Hard Times?

Ric Flair Put The Wrestling Thread on Hard Times

Part of me wishes Daniel Bryan had it in in him to do his own updated riff on the "Hard Times" promo

Just found this in the lol pics

For all the praise McMahon gets for his genius, he sure doesn't understand his fanbase. I forget who it was, but I read someone say that Vince doesn't watch current movies. I'll look it up.

Vince has been behind the times for years. Remember when he buried Paul Burchill's pirate gimmick because he assumed no one saw Pirates of The Caribbean due to him never seeing it?

Or the conversations the Kliq use to have with him about an edgier product as well as the DX antics?

Say what you want about the Kliq but they are part of the reason Vince was willing to change with the times in the 90s.

On the creative side of things, Vince has never been a genius...only on the "business" side.

Vince and his logic make about as much sense as your average David Lynch film. :o

Although, that is AWESOMELY arrogant logic about movies. "If I didn't see it, effin' nobody did, son!" I wish I was that confident in my importance. Or was that insane.

If he atleast watched Modern TV shows, he'd know that fans are into shows that have an emphasis on themes and continuity like Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Mad Men, Arrow and Game of Thrones for example.

Which could gives him some cues on how to change the product to appeal to the casuals more since most of those shows get higher ratings than Raw and Smackdown in their sleep.

If Vince took cues from shows like Breaking Bad and Arrow, WWE would be so much better right now. :o

Back in September right?

Yeah. Everyone was saying it was Ziggler. At this point, it's obvious Bryan was the person Vince was referring to. Makes sense, since Bryan's star power was on the rise at that time and instead of putting the machine behind him, WWE gave him weak booking.

What has helped Bryan--and this is a testament to his charisma--is that he gained more popularity and more heat despite the booking.

Not totally true.

Based on Austin's podcasts, it was Vince's idea to do the double-turn at Wrestlemania 13 in Bret/Austin. Austin wasn't sure it was going to work, but Vince was.

Wrestlemania 20, Chris Jericho vs Christian, Trish ringside. The original plan was Jericho winning with him and Trish becoming a cute quirky couple afterwards. At the last moment, Vince changed the plan and had Trish turn on Jericho, and Christian winning instead.

Vince has his blunders, such as failing to recognize Daniel Bryan, more focus on muscled up guys, and even creative ideas like Katie Vick--he thought it was high comedy, according to his DVD 7 years ago--but the man has his moments of brilliance. And you definitely can't say the man doesn't know how to do character work. The Mr McMahon persona is something that should be studied.

Pretty much, Vince is a mixed bag.

I think even I thought it was Ziggler too haha. Then again, I think most of us was fickle enough to think Ziggler was actually getting a push. :o

Maybe they can even add UFC esque touches with "Tale of the Tape" segments, staged Press Conferences, and maybe even a Countdown Show on the USA network the night before while he's at it. Maybe make 2 out of 3 Falls matches the norm for WWE Title matches on PPV.

NJPW does a fantastic job at doing something similar. Might not hurt WWE to use that kind of technique.

Basically when you notice things that are hugely popular in mainstream culture, try to find ways to capture those audiences' interests. That's the textbook definition of changing with the Times...Something McMahon refuses to do because he's so out of touch.

The Attitude Era managed to successfully catch the attention of fans that watched Jerry Springer, South Park, ECW, WCW and sleazy night time soaps all in one swoop.

So here's a better question: with the discussion of "face of the company", where does the Rock fit in? I think some would argue he's on Stone Cold's level, though WWE's highest drawing time occurred when Austin was leading the charge. So was Rock like Savage to Hogan, and CM Punk is currently to John Cena?

It's hard to say because of the role reversal situation. In the case of Hogan and Savage, and Cena and Punk, Vince had the guy he WANTED on top and so was never going to quite allow the other two to get the same full on push when they caught up, where as with Austin and Rock it was the other way around, Austin came first but Rock was more what Vince envisioned as the top guy, so Rock was placed more as Austin's equal.

Ah, yes...Ivory! :hrt:

She still looks amazing, even at 52.

Always underrated as a sexy Lady and a performer, but is this pic actually recent? :wow:

Hopefully, this is how Renee answers Big Dave's mating call...

Renae is awesome, she just seems too smart and classy to buy into the Batista Bomb.

I don't know what is funnier, Vince out of touch with reality or Peyton Manning saying Omaha a million times today.

People probably died of alcohol poisoning if they were playing a drinking game of the latter.

Jeff Katz tried to do that with Wrestling Retribution Project but he couldn't find a distributor.

As someone who has seen multiple David Lynch films, I reject this statement. Though the WWE could use more Kyle Maclachlan.
